There was a little indie music festival going on in a field outside of some small town in Jersey. Every once in awhile Apollo likes to come check out these festivals to see what's new in the music world. The music was loud and people were everywhere, you couldn't walk without bumping into someone. Apollo tried counting how many stages they had going on all with different types of music playing, but he wasn't able to see them all.
"Now this is a place I could get used to." Apollo says looking around as best he could.
"I know what you mean, If I could I would live here. The music, the people , the experience. It's something you never forget." A woman standing next to him said.
"It is definitely something beautiful." Apollo says not looking away from the newcomer.
"Are you flirting with me?" She asks him a coy smirk on her face.
"Maybe." Apollo replies with a smirk of his own. "So do you mind showing me around the festival, it's my first time here?" He asks.
"Sure, I've been coming here since I was a kid. The artists change but we keep the same layout. But the best way to get the music festival experience, is just to wander around, you never know who you'll meet, or what will happen." She says grabbing his hand as the weave through the non-stop crowd of people.
"Now, I think you're flirting with me." Apollo says.
This woman was something different, that was apparent to him. He allowed her to pull him through the crowd showing him this year's venue of artists. She didn't know what it was about this man that drew her to him, but she felt like he was important to say the least. After about an hour of listening to new artists, they make their way over to one of the stands giving out plastic cups full of beer.
"Here, the next best thing about music festivals is the stands giving out beer, some it actually tastes good and not like shit." She says and hands Apollo a cup. They go on like this for the next couple hours alternating between, music and beer, but mostly the music. They were both on their 4th beer when they decided to stop and sit down for a bit. They find a shady spot under a tree on the outskirts of the field, but still close enough they can hear the music
"Now, I have realized something, it only took me 3 beers to realize it," The woman starts
"4." Apollo corrects.
"Don't interrupt me." She says, "Now, I don't know your name and unless you are magic, you don't know mine. So I'll start. My name is Buffy. You know like the singer from the 60's my parents loved her music even though it wasn't as popular here in America." Buffy says.
"Oh, I remember her, we used to be good friends." Apollo says.
"You're drunk aren't you?" Buffy asks looking at him.
"Yes, now my turn. I'm Apollo, god of music and truth and prophecy, healing, poetry all that." Apollo says.
"Impressive, now i know you're drunk, but I'll go with it. So Apollo, what brings you to the outskirts of New Jersey?" Buffy asks sipping at her beer.
"Well, every once in awhile I like to come down and find out for myself what the mortals are into music wise. I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Didn't know the mortals were capable of putting together something this wonderful." Apollo says looking out at the festival and the sun setting below the stages set up.
"Well, you know, us mortals can do wonderful things when we put our minds to it." Buffy says. "Hey look, they are lighting some bonfires maybe we can bum some food off of someone." Buffy says standing and offering her hand to help Apollo stand up. He takes her hand and they go off to one of the bonfires.
