The sound of the phone ringing alarmed me as I groaned pushing the soft comfy white sheets off me. Who could possibly be ringing me at this time, I allowed myself to quickly peek at the clock hanging on the wall 4.30am. This better be an emergency. I grabbed my phone staring at the picture of no other than my best friend Lexi, her long wavy blonde hair ruffled up reaching just above her waist and her brown eyes smiling just like the grin on her tan face. Of course, it was her, I answered and to my surprise she didn't speak which was unusual considering she never keeps her thoughts to herself.

"Lexi," I trailed off annoyed to be woken at this time.

"Rose..." Her voice concerned, "I didn't know what to do, so I just did it, you know... Without thinking, see I normally think but I just... had enough you know?"

"What exactly did you do?" I asked worried and curious.

"I broke it off with Nicholas," I sighed, hearing the words. Lexi explained to me in details as to why. Nicholas was caught cheating with his ex and Lexi was not having it this time and decided to leave him because he doesn't deserve another chance which I completely agreed on even when I told her to not give it to him the first time he cheated. I placed the phone down on speaker and sat up on the bed crossing my legs convincing Lexi that she had done the right thing and after a long hour she sounded much better.

"So are you ready for your interview?" Lexis' change of mood was a good sign, "Yes I am, I know exactly what I'm going to wear!" just before I was about to explain she cut me "Please don't wear a skirt that reaches below your knees, Rose! You're going to be interviewed by the owner of the company! You have a gorgeous model body show it off! Maybe then you will be able to get the job" I scoffed at her remark.

"What makes you think my intelligence won't?" I argued, I worked so hard to get into Law school and now to be able to get this internship will definitely boost my career. "Of course it will help you, but they say the owner is quite attractive himself," I couldn't help but let out a laugh at her reply. "Lexi do you even know what he looks like?" I questioned. "Well... No, but you will today," With no doubt Lexi was grinning from one ear to the other. I shook my head removing any thoughts of the new owner let alone my future boss enter my mind.

"Goodbye Lexi," I sang, and hung up the phone. It was then I realized the time was 6.30am and I had thirty minutes to get ready and leave the house. Panic quickly overthrew me as I jumped up to the shower and blow-dried my long brown locks I decided to curl my hair and watched the last big curl bounce down to my waist. After my makeup I was unsure as to what I should wear, sophisticated was the first impression I wanted to give out, a black button up chiffon blouse tucked in a red skirt with a peplum bottom that reached just above my knees and my black pointed stilettos. I smiled at myself in the mirror the red skirt complimented my fair skin and bright blue eyes and I couldn't help but think of Lexis' comment before.

The lift felt like it took forever to get to the first floor and when it did I quickly paced out to the front entrance of the apartment lounge. The sky was bright blue, it was perfect weather, the city was always chaotic in the mornings, just as I crossed the road I spotted the building from afar, it was the largest building in the city, mainly because it's one of the greatest law firms. I smiled excited that I might have a chance to work in such a place. I looked around the street standing on the curbside, the taxi parked and I hopped in "42/6 Street Ace Avenue please," I smiled, the European-looking driver nodded his head.

I stood at the front desk and received my card pass to enter the elevator, everyone here seemed so sophisticated and well dressed, it was very classy, you could see the reflection on the marble floors and the chandelier that hung in the middle of the lobby. I swiped the black card and waited for the elevator, scanning my eyes across the hallway the sound of women in their heels echoed as my eyes met the name of the company written in cursive writing on the wall 'Giovanni Law Firm' the name originated from the retired owner the father of the new Boss Colton Giovanni, the great man who conquered and won all the criminal cases that no other law firm could handle. Hearing the sound of the elevator I snapped back out of my thoughts and pressed the button to shut the doors and made my way to the 60th floor, the top floor.

"Rose Valentine, you're just in time, the interview will be held now," I turned my head to the dark black haired secretary that stood at the opening of the two large black glass doors, the women who were also here for the job were sitting on the lounges waiting to be called out. I paced slowly towards the secretary and she pushed the door open. Walking in I sat on the leather black seats, hearing the door close I shuffled around taking in the surroundings the room was dark but the light beamed through from the glass windows which portrayed an amazing view of the city. The large dark brown wooden desk in front of me was filled with neat paperwork and files it was then I noticed the rather large back of the office chair.

"Miss Valentine." My eyes quickly moved to see the chair spin around and I was caught staring at the mysterious man in front of me.
