Was It Ever True Love?

Chapter 5

"Wait, what happened? I was gone for two hours and you were both crying." Will said looking between Caleb and I.

"It's nothing, let's just forget about it." Caleb said and then looked at me and winked secretly. I nodded my head an returned to looking at Will.

"Okay." Will stated simply.

"Well Caleb, it was nice seeing you but I was really hoping to have alone time with Lily. I mean I'm her best friend and I want to take care of her. So we will be over for dinner later tonight if she feels better so please leave." Will said, a little aggressively.

"But I wanted to take care of Lily, too. I went to get to know her again." Caleb said defensively.

"Yeah but we had plans today, and it was just going to be us spending time together. Which I don't get to do very often so I would like to spend some alone time oft her for the day. We will be over your house in like 4 hours I think. Yeah, since we will have time to watch a couple movies." Will said looking at his watch.

I knew that this conversation was going to turn into an argument if I didn't say something. I knew I had to do something but I didn't know what to do. I could either tell Caleb to leave and spend some time with Will. Or I could tell Will that Caleb can stay and I could spend time with both of them. I spent about a minute thinking about it, while Caleb and Will continued to go back and fourth. You could hear the conversation get a little bit more intense after every remark that was made.

I decided it was probably best if Will and I spent some quality time together today, since that was what we planned.

"Hey caleb, I'll see you in like 4 hours, Will and I planned for quality time together so that's what we will do. Tomorrow we can have quality time together and later tonight. I promise." I said, smiling slightly.

Caleb looked at Will in defeat.

"Okay I'll see you soon." Caleb hugged me tightly then left.

"LETS WATCH FINDING DORY!" Will yelled like a little kid.

"Okay." I said while giggling, we watched Finding Dory for a while, occasionally taking break to refill our popcorn and get more drinks. After we watched Finding Dory we found that we had time to watch another movie before we had to get ready to go to Annie and Caleb's house. We decided to watch High School Musical because deep down were little kids ourselves. After that, Will went back to his place so he could get ready and then he would come back to my place. He gave me a quick hug and left.

~Will's POV~

When I left Lily's place I immediately missed her, she was my best friend and I hate spending time away from her. I also hate knowing that as soon as Lily and I get to Caleb and Annie's place Lily is just going to want to hang out with Caleb. I could tell something happened between them while I was gone, I just don't know what it is yet, but I'm determined to find out. I knew it wasn't a good idea to trust caleb alone with Lily. He will just smooth talk her into getting back together and hurt her again. I can't watch Lily go through that much pain again, it was unbearable for me to see her like that. After I saw what Caleb had done to Lily before, I promised myself I would never let anyone else hurt her like that, ever again. Sure, call me overprotective or a control freak, but Lily has always been there for me and I'm going to do the same for her. I need to protect her, I have to pretend to like Caleb for Lily's sake. After what he did, I hate him. Anyways, after I got to my place I quickly changed into some dark washed jeans, a light blue t-shirt, and my black and white nike shoes. I also went into the bathroom and fixed my rats nest of hair. I quickly grabbed my hockey sweatshirt and left to go back to Lily's.
