The last memory Lapis had before blacking out was the sound of growling and the feeling of her flesh being bitten and torn between razor sharp teeth. Nothing was supposed to go wrong that November evening, she was just supposed to take a peaceful stroll through the park. It was a beautiful day after all. Although things tended to never go the way Lapis had wanted.
The walk to the park lasted longer than expected, on the walk back to her home much to her dismay the sun was dipping beneath the horizon. She hurried her pace, considering the creeps that lurked in the shadows of the night.
That's when she saw it. A dark figure hid behind bushes, its golden eyes glowing in the night. It's probably just a stray dog. Lapis chuckled nervously to herself as to release some of the tension growing in the pit of her stomach. This was much bigger than any dog she's seen. She trudged onward towards her apartment complex, the figure hidden in the bushes moved. She picked up her pace into a jog, as did the beast. She began to sprint and it followed her pace. It leaped out from the bushes, its matted, white fur illuminated by the lampposts. This was no dog. Its teeth glinted in the light and slowly it circled the woman closing in ever so slowly.
The rest of the night was a blur, she awoke on her couch, a blanket laid across her body, with an episode of Camp Pining Hearts playing in the background. A clatter sounded from behind the couch, her eyes shot open. She peeled over the top of the couch and realized this definitely was not her apartment, it looked more like a renovated barn, to say the least. Lapis backed off the couch slowly, trying to make as little noise as possible. If I have to I can take out the blonde, she looks about 5'2 and has sticks for arms. Okay, Lapis just gotta hit her upside the head and look for directions.
She looked on the coffee table for a makeshift weapon. Under the couch, she found a Camp Pining Hearts limited edition hiking staff. Okay, I guess? This'll have to do. Lapis crept, the floorboard creaked slightly with each step, but nothing that would draw alarm. The short blonde stood with her back turned, cooking meat. Lapis didn't know what kind, but ever muscle and nerve in her body ached for meat. Her stomach growled loudly. She raised the thick stick above her head, ready to strike.
"Oh, look who finally woke up! Would you like something to eat—" she dropped the plate, letting it smash into thousands of tiny pieces, the short girl's feet bled with each shard that slipped past her skin. She stood up straight, too petrified to move or even take notice to her own damaged feet. "Please don't kill me! I'll give you anything, the money's under the floorboards. I'll even let you have season five of Camp Pining Hearts! Just let me live!" she begged, nearly on the verge of tears.
"Season five is trash and we both know that. Anyways you kidnapped me, I don't really think you have the right to be begging for any demands," Lapis scoffed and steadied the stick over the girl's head again.
"I never kidnapped you, you were on the side of the road completely out. Of course, this is what I get for trying to help, and now you're going to wipe my precious grin off the planet. Great, just great."
"Wait, you weren't...oh," she let the weapon fall to her side and chuckled nervously.
"Yeah, "Oh" is right."
"Guess this was a massive misunderstanding. Oops."
"You don't say?" even through the blonde's sniffling her snark still came out loud and clear.
"Jeez, it was an accident how was I supposed to know you weren't going to murder me," Lapis crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"Ugh, you're unbearable," she shook her head.
"This might be a horrible time to ask, but I'm really hungry."
"Go ahead, it was for you anyways," she rolled her eyes and took a step to the side. The blonde let out a yelp. The sound for Lapis was amplified and nearly caused her to double over in pain. The blonde winced, each step was like walking on shattered glass, oh wait it was.
