He walks me to my car where my parents are waiting. When we get there i introduce him to my parents and my parents to him. Then I turn to him hug him tightly and tell him I'll text him, and like that he was gone.

"I like him." I tell my parents. I can't help but smile as I think about him and the time we spent together during function. "So, am I allowed to date?" "Can I date him?" "Well we are iffy about you dating, considering your last relationship, and we just met him." "Also did you just meet him? How much do you know about him?" They had a point, it just occurred to me that I actually didn't know much about him, ya I've met him before multiple times, but I've never actually "MET" him, as in got to know him.

I think hard and long on this as my parents ramble on about relationships, stories, and their past experiences with relationships and more. When I finally had a solution, where we both win. I waited for them to finish their sentences and stop talking so I could introduce them to my idea. As their conversations died down and then hit a stop I quickly grabbed that chance to speak my mind.

"I've got an idea." "Ya? What is it?" "How about me and him can get to know each other better, and each others families, and we can hang out. Then after we get to know each other for a bit, let's say what's left of this year and summer, we can date." "Ya know like we can date when school starts?" "That sounds good." Says my dad. "Then we can meet him more and get to know him more."

Score!!! I think to myself silently, still holding that smile as we pull into our driveway. Then as we get inside Alec texts me. "Hey" "Hey" I reply. "So my mom says I can date." "Well my parents are iffy about that idea so I gave them another idea." Then i explained what we had talked about and agreed on and he agreed with that idea. Then the night ended with that, we said our good-nights and were yet to see what was to come ahead.
