Summary: "It's been an amazing year together! So let's eat some cake!"

Notes: we reached 50K! And tomorrow is the final chapter and one year birthday of the book! So much is happening ~~

"All these different spices and you still choose to be salty, Haru-chan."

I let out a small laugh at my joke as we tried to find the baking powder for the cake but as I turned to face Haru, she did not seem amused.

My smile slowly fell and then I carried on searching until I found it and waved it in her face, "found it!"

"Sam, I'm pretty sure Tsukishima is more salty than me."

I nodded in agreement as we continued to make the cake for the leaving party.

I quickly finished adding the ingredients and left the mixing to Haru, sitting on hen counter I watched her. When a stab of sadness hit me, I would never watch her tuck her hair behind her ear, or listen to her obnoxious laugh again.

"Sam I'm not dying, stop acting like this is the last time you'll see me."

I jumped in surprise slightly at the accuracy of her comment, I shook my head before sliding off the counter and walking to the stool where I sat and swans my legs.

"Do you think the boys will like ten party?"

"Of course Sam. The only think they won't like is the fact that they're leaving tomorrow."

I smiled before placing my head on the cold marble surface, and turning it so I could see all the luggage in the living room and on the stairs.

Letting out a sigh, I wondered just what I was going to do when the boys left and took Haru with them. It felt like everything was in the open and it had happened too late.

"Haru-chan, it's going to be so lonely here now."

"You're such a baby."

"Am not."

"Are too and why are you arguing, you know I'm right."

"I like to argue with you because it's funny Haru-chan."

She hummed in response as she continued to mix the cake batter, whilst I began to blow balloons up.

A knock broke the comfortable silence and I got up, opening the door to the headmistress and my godmother. She tapped my shoulder and gestured for me to follow her outside.

"Samantha-Kun, these boys have really changed you and it's delighted me to see that. But I am aware that your close friend, Haruka is leaving." She tapped my shoulder awkwardly as if trying to ease the pain she could sense I was feeling, " well that cloud does have a silver lining. As she is going to a schools specialising in sports medicine and I am offering you the chance to transfer for your last year as well."

I turned to look at her, hair being carried slightly in the wind and blue eyes shining with a challenge, "and why would I leave?"

"Just consider it."

"But I would be leaving my team behind."

"You and I both know they can handle themselves. Especially that blue haired one."

I simply gave her a weak chuckle but the idea of moving schools made me feel sick to the stomach.

So I slowly crept back inside where I was tackled by someone, looking down and noticing the mop of unruly ginger hair I managed to force a smile.

"Oy Senpai." I looked in the direction of Kageyama's voice just to have a pair of hands grab my cheeks and move them up.

"You should stop forcing smiles. They're bad for your facial muscles."

"Kageyama that's so rude to do that to Sam-San." Hinata unwrapped his arms from around my waist and began to square up to Kageyama. Quickly I stood in between them, hands out and trying to stop the inevitable fight.

"I hate you with every inch of my body, Kageyama."

"Well that's not a lot of inches then."

"It's been an amazing year together! So let's eat some cake!"

The gym erupted into laughter as everyone dug into the cake. The party wasn't much of a surprise but everyone was till happy there was a leaving party of sorts.

Beyoncé's single ladies began to play on the speakers and the whole of Aoba Jousai got into a formation and began a dance routine with Oikawa leading.

The rest of the gym erupted into laughter, most members recording on their phones a piece of history that was never to be forgotten.

Iwaizumi was the first to stop and walk away, head hung in shame and slowly it was just Oikawa dancing by himself, oblivious to everyone leaving him so Sam, Haru and Aoi all joined in and soon most of the gym were finishing off the routine with him.

The boys quickly collapsed on the floor, panting and laughing and soon a few of their cheeks were damp with something other than sweat.

Bokuto sat up and looked around before laying his head in Akaashi's lap, it was hard to leave everyone behind when they had all grown so close and were used to waking up every morning to the sound of each other.

Tears ran down Kuroo and Oikawa's faces as they embraced tightly and promised to not keep out of contact.

But the thing was most of them knew that after this, outside of their teams the only time tent would meet would be during tournaments.

Sam sat leaning against the wall with Haru next to her, she meant her head against the brunettes shoulders, "we did good, didn't we Haru-chan?"

The brunette smiled, and squeezed Sam's hand, "you did good. Look how much these boys have improved in not only technique but how much the teams get on."

The boys quickly resumed to eating cake and the assortments of sweets laid out and Haru got up as she saw her boyfriend peeking his head round the door to find her.

So Sam sat there by herself, alone yet surrounded by her makeshift family and for the first time in long time she felt at home.
