It was that time of the night when everything seems to be hilarious, it was long past midnight and the room crammed with the volleyball team were still feeling as awake as ever.

The lights had been dimmed and the air conditioner was on full blast as the boys all sat or lay on their futons talking about some of the most random topics. Usually, the boys would talk in their own groups, but due to Sam who was laying on her futon, arms wrapped around her stomach crying with laughter, they were almost forced to converse.

Every now and then she would calm down enough to look up and tell them to stop but then Hinata, Tanaka or Nishinoya would pull another impression and her eyes would widen before scrunching together along with her nose as she tried to hold in her laughter. Which in barely any time would escape her lips and then the other boys were laughing at just how easy it was to make her laugh.

After about half an hour, she calmed down and they began to talk again, mainly due to the fact that most of the boys' hair had grown longer in the few months away from home. So Sam as their coach decided to take it upon herself to cut the hair that was in desperate need of attention, mainly Tsukishima who had grown bangs, Daichi, Kageyama and Hinata.

"Do you trust me, Shou-chan?"

"Right now, no."

"Smart boy, now sit still, unless you want a fringe like Tsukishima's." Sam lectured as Hinata continued to bounce around in the chair.

"Are you saying my hair is bad?" Tsukishima questioned, "Because I'm certain that you were the one who just cut it."

Sam huffed out air before glaring at Hinata who knew that it as his fault for messing around, the second he sat still in shame she quickly cut away at the linger strands before picking up Tanaka's hair clippers, "Are you sure you want an undercut? Won't your parents be annoyed?"

"No, my mother allowed me to but I was too nervous. Either way, it's just hair. It will grow back."

Sam nodded in agreement before shaving the bottom of his hair up to his ears, "You look like a real ace now, you know discounting Asahi and all." Hinata grinned and instantly ran up to Kageyama showing off his new hair. Kageyama backed away slowly, a hand covering his mouth as his blush started to intensify.

Eventually the lights were turned off, followed by multiple complaints until Daichi sat up in bed, his silohuette barely visible but with the bad vibes he was givin off were scary enough to silence everyone. Sam in the mean time had figured it would be safer to leave her hearing aid in as the boys continually forgot she was deaf, and sometimes it was nice to be surrounded by all their colourful personalities and loud laughs.

The training camp had originally been Angel's idea, she had mentioned it to Haru and been overheard my the headmistress who took things into her own hands. But from the beginning Sam wanted to see if being together for around half a year would tear a team together or glue them closer together. Admittedly it was rather self-indulgent, but meeting the boys and not just binge watching all of their matches.

Sam was a fangirl so to speak for the four teams that were currently being traind, their matches gave her ideas and seemed to spur her competitive side even more than usual. When she watced them play, it was if she was sitting on the court.

So as she shut her eyes, surrounded by the sound of slow breaths, small snuffles and louder snores did Sam finally feel like she had found herself another home, a place she felt safe to be herself.

I woke up long before anyone and slolwy tiptoed around all the boys sprawled around the room, most barely still on their futons. I had prepared for us to travel to the beach that was barely 10 minutes away and so I made a quick trip to the kitchens.

"You're up early, you know this is meant to be a relaxing week?" Auntie was glaring at me and I bit my lip before opening my mouth to begin a response before she shrugged and continued, "One day you will tel me what the hell is wrong. But until then since you can't cook let me at least make the picnic for the boys."

I nodded, and walked over to the counter sliding up onto it and then crossing my legs, placing an elbow on my knee and my head into my palm, I watched her busy around the kitchen accompanied with a few of the chefs.

"Honestly Sammie, at least try to be more lady-like in front of me."

"I don't want to be lady-like, I want to beat all those who stand in my way."

"Sure, sure. Calm down you little firecracker, don't get your laces in a twist."

Sometimes I forgot that although Auntie seemed to be small and weak, her sharp tongue always seemed to make up for any of the losses she faced.

Soon enough the lunch had been packed in a large rucksack and the other residents of the hotel began to oder food for breakfast, as well as the boys who were sitting at their table scoffing on large bowls of hot rice as well as other various sides.

"We're leaving in 10 minutes to go to a massive field to complete some team building exercises."

The boys instantly leapt up, pushing and shoving each other to get to the room first and preferably hide.

Tsukishima however hung back and the glare he sent Sam would of sent shivers down anyone else's back. But Sam just grinned, she knew this was going to be interesting.

"As if being with my team 24/7 isn't enough. You want us to bond?"

"Kei-chan-" his eyes narrowed and his hands clenched into fists,

"Don't call me that."

"Okay, Tsukki-chan. The other members from the teams are coming tomorrow and we're going to do some more interesting things. So suck it up Tsukki-chan. You'll be fine."

Tsukishima grimaced slightly and then upon seeing her smirk he refused to give her the satisfaction of seeing him annoyed.

When the boys were ready, they all headed out and Sam knew it was going to be an interesting day.
