Chapter 9

Ms. Smith, yes... I am calling to have a phone interview with you if this is a good time? Yes, this is fine. It went well and was over in about 20 minutes or so. His name was Mr. Parker and he told me I would be hearing from him very soon. Kol called and asked how my day was going?

I am missing you something awful, he felt the same way. It was now December now and Mr. Parker had offered me a great position with a salary I couldn't turn down. It's almost time for Christmas! We had planned so many things from decorations to rearranging the house. We talked every day and every night. Kol wanted to come down every weekend, but I told him if he didn't he would miss me more.

I hated being away from him. The month was passing by so fast and it was finally time to fly out. I had dinner with my mom and the girls too, we all were crowed up in mom's den laughing and opening gifts. We had drinks and cried about how far away we would be from each other.

Come on, just 8 hours away by car and an hour flight, we will be together all the time. The last time I checked phones, email, text, and social media is still working. I told mom how much I loved her and thanked her for everything. The girls dropped me off at home. We talked about them coming by and keeping an eye on the house.

Charese was staying over to drop me at the airport in the morning. I only had three bags, we would come back to pick up the rest of my things. I was getting ready for bed when I started to feel sick. I didn't know what was going on. I felt a little funny earlier in the week.

I called Kol and told him I was sick and may not make the flight. He said not to worry, everything would be fine. Charese got me some ginger ale and I started to feel a little better. She asked was it time for my cycle? I thought about it and it was late but that was normal for me. It jumps around like Michael Jordan.... She said maybe you are.... No, I couldn't be! It's not the right time or anything. Whatever, I am going to Walgreens to get a test and if Mrs. Linda isn't there I will be right back.

She came right back; she wasn't there huh? Nope, now go pee on the stick! Well, we waited and in about 10 minutes two pink lines went across the tube! You are shitting me! What Charese, What! You're pregnant! NO! I can't be! Too late Sam, oh my God! When are you going to tell Kol? I don't know! We haven't even talked about kids; I don't even know if he even wants kids.

What am I going to do? Well at least you don't have to give him a gift; you were worried what can you give a man with everything? Now you got something, someone! Charese this isn't funny, stop playing. I'm not Sam, he is going to be thrilled!

I couldn't sleep, and before I knew it morning had creeped up. Let's get to the airport now. I am so nervous. Your phone is ringing, it's Kol! Hey, how are you? Are you ready to go? Charese is here getting ready to drop me off now. Good I can't wait to wake up in your arms tomorrow.

Baby, but I am sick so I should be careful. What are you talking about? I have been feeling sick the last couple of days. I said it was just me being love sick. I can't wait to see you. Me too; I was supposed to fly out tomorrow. I know baby, but I couldn't wait. I will see you in a bit, I love you. How am I going to tell him Charese? Just do it, he loves you and I am sure he will love this baby too. Let's go. My flight would be leaving in about 2 hours, look the girls are here.

You didn't think we would let you let you go without saying goodbye, did you? Lindsey, I will miss you so much! Ditto kid! Flight 210 to Chicago is at gate A3. I will call you when I land. Ok Sam, and don't forget to tell us what Kol said about the baby! Baby! What the hell are you talking about Charese? Shit, Tammy said I knew someone was pregnant because I have felt weird all week. Look, it's nothing to get excited about. It was just a pee on a stick. When I get to my new OB/GYN I will let you know. I got to go. I love yawl! Alone now, my mind is going in so many different directions. Now I have got to face the music!
