Dedicated to macethemaniac thanks for your support! Up above is Amaya's dress!
"If you don't already have plans, would you like to be my date?" Amaya ran the scene over and over again in her mind. She was so excited she could hardly contain herself, but the dance was tomorrow and she had no dress and no idea how to do makeup. She followed her friends out the double doors of the regionals stadium and quickly caught Gou's arm.
"I need your help with something." Amaya bit her lip as she smiled. "Haru asked me to the spring formal, and I need a dress."
Gou began bouncing up and down and they both began squealing in delight. "I know just the place." Gou grabbed Amaya's arm and they ran down the sidewalk. Soon they ended up on Main Street in front of a shop called Dresses Shoes and More. The girls walked in, to see racks upon rackets of different dresses. Bright colors, dark colors, long, short, and anything else left to the imagination. Amaya was instantly bombarded by stylist who wouldn't stop talking.
"Hey Gou who's your friend?" Asked the brunette.
"You're, like totes adorbs! I love your hair!" Squealed the purple haired girl with sparky shoes.
"Umm... Thanks?" Amaya stuttered, she felt imbaressed from all the attention. She didn't have many friends at school and well the boys, they knew nothing about hair or clothes.
Sparkle shoes dragged Amaya towards the dressing rooms. The walls were pink with bright blue doors for each room. In the center was a octagon cylinder mirror for people from all side to gaze at their appearance. Purple hair shoved a pile of dresses into Amaya's hands. Some were pink, others were orange and some were a mixture of everything.
"Start with those!" Smiled purple hair.
"Start?" Amaya stammered as her eyes widened behind the mountain in her hands.
Gou laughed as she entered a changing room of her own. "Dress shopping is an all day experience."
All day long Amaya tried on dress after dress and nothing worked. Purple hair, and sparkle shoes were bewildered. Nothing seemed to fit Amaya's style or personality.
"This is pointless." Sighed Amaya as she sat down in a fluffy pinks chair in the changing room.
Gou walked out of one of the doors warring a dark pink and purple dress that hugged her slim figure and spiraled around her. She frowned, "Your style is just to classic for all these new styles. Don't get me wrong you looked nice, but they didn't scream you. You know?"
Sparkle shoes snapped her fingers. "That's it classic!" She ran to the back doors labeled employees only and before the door fully closed she was back holding a light blue dress that fell mid thigh and had elegant flower lace sleeves. "This is from the classic collection by Macy Short! It comes out next week but this is an emergency."
Amaya disappeared behind a blue door and slid on the dress. The loose skirt danced around her legs loosely and the top hugged her torsos. The light blue dress pulled out the blue tint to Amaya's purple eyes and the lace gave off a classy elegance that Amaya normally acted like.
This is the one. Amaya thought.
Sorry if this part sucks, but I don't go dress shopping often so...~~~
Amaya was in the kitchen squinting into a mirror that hung next to the chestnut table. She wore the light blue dress and her hair was in a curled ponytail that draped over her shoulder. Her bangs were pinned back by a pearled blobby pin, revealing the soft completion of her face. She had applied a light pink blush, red lipstick and a natural eye shadow with mascara and eye liner. The entire process had taken her an hour, but the hardest part was walking down stairs in her silver sparkle heels, Gou had insisted were a necessity. The door bell rang and its jingle echoed through the house creating a nervousness knot in Amaya stomach. She took a deep breath and opened the door. Haru stood at the door with his hands behind his back. He wore a black suit with a deep ocean blue tie. His eyes widened as Amaya opened the door.
"Wow." He said.
Amaya blushed hard. "W..wow yourself." They stood there for a moment.
"This is for you." Haru brought his left hand forward to reveal a beautiful red rose corsage. "I recall you said you liked ball room dancing, and well the only exsperence I have with ball room dancing was watching Beauty and the Beast and you said it was your favorite movie, and it had an important rose so... Um..." Haru rambled getting flustered as he desperately tried not to make a fool out of himself and failing.
Amaya smiled as she let Haru put it on her wrist. "It's perfect. Thank you." Amaya and Haru both sighed with relief as each of them realized the other was just as nervous as they were.
"Hey love birds! Let's go!" Yelled Rene.
Amaya looked past Haru to see Makoto, Nagisa, Rene and Rae waiting for them. Nagisa wore plaid tux with a orange tie with black dress pants, Rae wore a burgundy tux with a purple tie, Makoto wore a light brown tux with a green tie. They're were all alone but Rene, in addition to his white tux and red tie was a girl holding his hand. She had long brown hair that was curled loosely around her shoulders, her green eyes, lined with blue eye shadow smiled more than her lips painted in light pink. Her dress was a pale green that faded to yellow and it hugged her shaped figure until her shins then flared around her feet.
"Hi, I'm Mizu. Rene's girlfriend. I've heard a lot about you." Mizu smiled as she addressed Haru and Amaya.
"Nice to meet you too." Smiled Amaya. Huh Rene does have to ability to not think about swimming for thirty seconds.
"Shall we go?" Asked Makoto as he pointed to a long black limo. Amaya could feel her mouth drop, she quickly closed it, but not before Haru chuckled at her.
"Where's Gou?" Asked Amaya. Gou was no where to be found, and she would be hard to miss with the dress she chose.
"With Momo." Sighed Rene. "Why did it have to be Momo? Why?" Rene Wispered more to himself.
Mizu patted Rene on the back comfortingly. "She'll be just fine. If anyone can handle hyperactive boys, it's your sister. I mean she handles Nagisa."

The school gym was lit up in neon lights and the large black speakers blared the song Shut Up and Dance With Me. Gou was in the middle of the dance floor with Momo. They were bellowing out the lyrics as loud as possible. The rest of the gang was dancing away from the giant mass of people. Mizu and Amaya chatted and giggled as they danced to the music.
After the song ended a familiar Disney song began to slowly drift from the speakers.
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Amaya's eyes lit up as one of her favorite songs played, and Haru didn't fail to see it. Makoto elbowed him hard in the ribs.
"What?" Haru asked as he lifted his punch to his mouth, trying to hide his face.
Makoto sighed as he took the punch from Haru. "You know what. Good luck." Makoto pushed Haru forward and Haru stumbled forword.
Summoning all his courage Haru held out his hand to Amaya. "Come on." He smiled.Just a little change
Small to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the BeastHaru and Amaya joined other couples on the dance floor. Amaya wrapped her arms around Haru's neck and he held her waist gently as they swayed back and forth like the other couples. Haru smiled.
"You know." He said. "We could out show everybody here."
Amaya looked up and raised her eyebrow. "How's that?" She asked.
"Well I may had memorized all the dance steps to this song. I'm like 75% sure I can do them." Haru shrugged.Ever just the same
Haru repositioned his hands so they were in more of a waltz like position.
Ever a surprise
He stepped back and Amaya followed.
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Haru spun Amaya around and she giggled softly as he pulled her back closely.
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast
As the song ended Haru dipped Amaya backwards. Their faces were so close their noses touched. Amaya gulped, she had never been the type of girl to put herself out on a limb with her feelings. However, she also believed all one needed was 20 seconds of courage to change ones life. So before her 20 seconds were up she closed the distance between them and pressed her lips against Haru's. She pulled back and blushed as he pulled her out of the dip.
Oh god don't tell me he hated... Amaya never got a chance to finish her thought before Haru pulled her into a longer, loving kiss.
Both of them could here cheering from the sidelines along with Makoto's 'finally!' Haru rolled his eyes at his, no their, swim team. All that mattered was that this was a night he would never forget.I know I'm terrible! Short, bad chapter and it took 6 days to write. I've had some writers block so please be patient.
