Night had fallen upon the young heroes of Remnet. Setting a camp in the center of a forest. An abandoned building stood, and they decided to take shelter for the night. Until dawn came along and they would continue their journey through the kingdoms.
A fire burning bright that illuminated the surrounding walls with a faint yellow glow.
The red warrior felt some form of deja vu, a feeling like she already went through this, and she had.
During a mission with the rest of team RWBY, in an abandoned building, her team and Professor asleep as she guarded the area with her pet dog, Zwei.
Only this time it was the rest of team JNPR, not her previous team, and no family pet to keep her company.
Her eyes scanned the building's surroundings with Crescent Rose l, her beloved weapon she forged herself back at Signal Academy.
She leaned back against the gray walls of the broken structure and took a deep breath.
Enjoying calmness of the dark blue night, with the shattered Moon watching above.
Her gaze returned over to the forests below. Nothing moved, all was quiet and still, calm.
Luckily for the four heroes, it was calm in these parts, not overwhelmed with hundreds of Grimm, it was safe at most. Far from the real fight that still continues. Even after months have passed from the day Beacon fell, and the four students set off on their quest.
Her silver eyes saddened. The cheerful eyes loosening the happiness that usually shined.
From the trees, something moved.
Her attention immediately shifted toward the cause of the sound. Eyes flying across the green sea of leaves. It stood still again.
Until an orange glow caught her attention. It burned brighter as she watched it grow.
She couldn't just brush it off and not examine it.
Her red hood flowed through the air as she ran to her fellow teammate and friend, Jaune Arc.
"Jaune, Jaune, wake up." She shook him awake. His blue eyes fluttering open.
"I saw something, and I need to check it out, I need you to keep watch for a while as a take a look, please."
He pushed himself up and nodded toward her, rubbing his tired eyes. Before he could ask what she had seen the girl had vanished into the darkness of the night.
Rose petals followed her trail as she reached the edge of the forest. The light slowly fading away.
She ran and ran and ran, she would find out what it was. She didn't want to admit it, but she had a bad feeling about this already. The minute her eyes got a glance of the orange light, something ticked inside her.
Just knowing she was getting closer by the second was an uneasy feeling but she continued anyway.
The light faded slowly, and she was losing sight of it quickly.
Suddenly the light was gone, darkness consumed the green forest once more.
This feeling grew as she walked forward, Crescent Rose held firmly by her side. Ready and loaded.
