Mackenzie's POV:

And on top of the pyramid is Mackenzie! - Said no one ever. We wait nervously for pyramid to start. The my mom is talking to Jill- Probably about how amazing Maddie danced at the competition last Saturday. Then Abby comes in and everybody goes silent. She starts Pyramid."On the bottom of the Pyramid is .... Mackenzie. You toes weren't pointed, you nearly didn't land your front aerial and you need to use your facial emotions more! Why can't you be more like your sister" Abby practically screamed at me. I sigh. I can't be like Maddie and I don't want to be like Maddie. . . . . . . .

. . . . "And on top of the pyramid, is of course Maddie! You came first in your age category and first overall. And you led the group dance- probably the only reason we won!" Abby says. The pyramid looks like how it usually does:

"This week we have 3 solos. The first one goes to Maddie. It's called The One and Only." Maddie acts like she's surprised to get a solo but everyone knows she expects one every week "The second solo goes to Mackenzie. This is a chance to redeem yourself and maybe even beat your sister" I see Maddie out of the corner of my eye laughing. " Your solo is called Just Another Girl. And the last solo goes to Chloe. Your solo is called Dream. Everyone is in the group dance which is called Reflection." We go into studio A and learn the choreography for our dances which are all Lyrical. I learn my dance which is really hard and I struggle on the turn sequence. "Point those toes Mackenzie!" "Use your emotions Mackenzie!" "Straighten that Leg" "Do it faster!". " Okay girls, Now we're gonna practice the group dance" Abby yells. Great. Another hour of getting yelled at by Abby. Dance finally finishes and we go home. I go up to my room and check my phone and see a text message from James, my boyfriend. I smile to myself. He always makes me feel better. I put in my password and check the message.

~James: Hey Kenz, I'm really sorry but me and Maddie have been texting and I really like her. We met up yesterday and she likes me too. I guess this is goodbye. Thanks for being a great girlfriend to me. Bye!

I gasp and a tear runs down my cheek. I read the message again and then re-read it just to make sure that I read it right. Then I grab my phone and run into Maddies room. "I can't believe you would do this to me!" I cry. "Do what?" She says. I throw my phone at her and she picks it up and reads the text. " I didn't know you and James were dating" She says " Don't lie to me! Of course you did. But you had to go and take everything away from me. My friends. My boyfriend. My EVERYTHING!" I scream. Maddie's jaw drops open and she says " Kenzie, I didn't -" I cut her off. " Save it, Maddie" I yell before running out and slamming the door.
