Flitter, flitter, flutter,
They float through the air,
Shimmer, shimmer, shine,
Their wings reflect the sun's rays,
Sip, sip, slurp,
They gulp down the luxurious nectar,
Wither, wither, weather,
Their bodies soon shrivel away,
But what is this?
Munch, munch, crunch,
It devours the little, green leaf,
Inch, inch, crawl,
It moves about the plant,
Wrap, wrap, nestle,
It cuddles into a brand new home,
As time slowly passes, it slowly grows,
Peck, peck, struggle,
It pushes out of its home,
Flitter, flitter, flutter,
A new, little butterfly has emerged.
