Ch.2

"Ok let's get this over with, so we don't have to work together after school." I said to Trevor. "But, what's wrong with after sch-" I cut him off before he could finish and said "This year I'm trying to be different. no drugs no guys. especially one's like you."

I saw a flash of disappointment in his eyes, but it left as quickly as it came. The bell rang and i rushed out of the class.

I walked out of the school and met up with Piper, and I saw Trevor leaning up against the tree, watching us, not even caring that he was staring and it was bothering me, it just made Piper feel a certain type of way.

"Uh Natalie," Piper began, "Why is the new guy staring at you?"

"His name is Trevor, and I don't know, we just have this project to do in history , we're partners." I said like it was nothing. It was totally something.

Trevor's POV

I saw Natalie wave goodbye to Piper and start walking towards where I guess was home. Quickly, I followed her. I'm not a stalker or anything, there's just something about her. Maybe it's her long wavy brown hair or the little sparkle in her crystal blue eyes. I couldn't figure it out, there was something different about her, she wasn't like the other girls.

Soon, I was pulled by my daydreams as I felt Natalie turning around to glare at me. "Hey" I said walking up next to her.

"I told you I didn't want to work on the project after school" she said.

"I know I know, but if you're not busy id kind of like to get to know my partner. How about we walk over to the park."

She nodded and I flashed a smile.

We sat in a bench and there was an awkward silence between us. Was that a bad thing?

"So tell me about yourself" she said. More of a command than a question.

"Well what do you want to know?"

"Ummmm, how about..... Everything."

Everything? No, at least not yet.

" well um." I began " my favorite color is navy blue, I like basketball and football, I love animals and motorcycles." I used to be a bus boy at a fancy restaurant and it was AWFUL. I'm originally from Detroit then moved to the lovely state of New York when I was 10. I hate bananas and chalkboards. When I was 6 I fell off the monkey bars and broke my arm and then when I was 12 I was running too fast and my leg slid in a metal fence and my leg got caught in it, also, you might've notice this scar going down my throat and past it, I swallowed the blade from the blender so I had surgery. That is pretty much the basics ."

"Wow. ouch, and really? Bananas and chalkboards?" She says with a smile tugging at her lips.

"Shut up" I joke "your turn"

"Uh ok. My parents are divorced and I live with my mom and as you might know my best friend and only friend is Piper. I used to be the worst person ever but Piper set me straight. My favorite color is green and I like to swim, when I was little I wanted to be a pop star when I was 8 but then I realized I couldn't sing. I have a brother, Sean, he is a really popular senior at our school and I hate corn and people completely oblivious to the world. And I'm focused on being a somewhat good kid this year." She finished.

Natalie's POV

There was a silence between us. But, it wasn't a bad silence more of a reading each other's minds or looking for something in each other's eyes. "I think I better get going it's getting late." I say as I stand up from the bench. "Oh yeah of course, want me to walk you home?" Trevor asks. How nice of him.

"Yeah, sure, thanks."

Trevor gets up and steps so close to my face I was scared to breathe. Do I like him? Should I kiss him? He started to lean in but I looked away and coughed awkwardly " we should get going." I said

"Yeah."

We came up at the front of my house. "Thanks for walking me home Trevor. Would you uh like to come in?"

"Yeah that'd be nice." He responded as I put the key into the lock and opened the door.

We walked in, home sweet home, I thought. But who was there when I opened the door Sean... And my mom. And I brought home.... The bad boy. I slapped my forehead in my mind. Crap!
