No mas Englas!

Celia's POV

I woke up and I was outside... In a ditch... In the dark.

As soon as I remembered what happened to me, I got up and looked around. I was literally in the middle of nowhere. Great. Just what I needed. Oh crap! I thought. The final competition was tomorrow. I have better things to think about right now. I thought.

ALMOST 3 HOURS LATER...

Celia's POV

I'm really tired by now, and I just want to lay down on the ground and cry. I have been walking for about 3 hours now, and not even a car has gone by. I walked for about 2 more hours- just about ready to give up- when I see lights from a city. Getting excited, I start to run towards the city.

Letting my mind wander, I think about how hot it is. I mean I know it's California but it's not that hot. I walk into the town, which is practically deserted because it is the middle of the night, and I walk into what looks like a gas station. It was still open, because it was open for people traveling.

I walk up to the counter, and start to talk. "Do you have a phone I could use?" I ask. The man at the counter looks at me confused, and says, "No mas Englas." Now, I look confused at him, and he points to a sign that says, 'no mas Englas'. Underneath, in English, it said 'no English'. I start to panic, realizing I'm not in America.

He points to himself and says, "En espanol." (Meaning he's Spanish.) I leave, go outside, and see a payphone. Luckily, I had some extra change in my pockets, so I could use it. I put it in, and the machine starts to talk... In Spanish. I get mad after a couple of tries, and I banged the phone against the machine and screamed, "I WANT ENGLISH!!! IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK?!?"

Then, the phone started to make noise again, and said 'switching to English'. Next, I asked for the U.S. Embassy (Like English police but in other countries.) It dialed the embassy and explained my problem. Someone drove over and picked me up. They said they called Katy and it would go on a plane to America soon.
