Chapter 3

"Lucy honey do you feel better?", Calebs mom asked me while handing me a bacon sandwich. "yes aunty, sorry for causing an inconvenience", I told her while taking a bite from the sandwich. She smiled at me and said," not at all sweetie, but I was shocked seeing both of you on the floor in the morning". I looked at Caleb who was lying on the sofa with one hand on his face and the other holding a sandwich. To be honest, we both looked like we were having a hangover.

I went to his bedroom to get my house keys and that time I looked at my room balcony which was opposite to his and there was no one there. It was messed up due to the storm but she wasn't there.
"hey", I looked around and caleb was there, he dint look me at my face but I knew he was irritated, " is it okay for you to go home? I mean that girl last night...". I smiled at him and patted his shoulders, " It's okay, if anything happens you'd jump to my balcony like always won't you? ". He smiled and said "yeah" then walked downstairs. I knew he was shocked but I dint understand why was he acting so weird. Before leaving the room I took one last glance at my balcony then paused. I ran downstairs and grabbed caleb who was giving me all sorts of mixed emotions face but mainly anger,"WTF LUCY?!", he said while balancing himself." There's something I need to tell you!", I told him while barging Into his room. We both stood in front of the balcony door where we stood last night while catching our breathe, " So what is it...you have to say?". I pointed opened the balcony door and stepped outside while pulling his hand, "That Girl wasn't she sitting right there? "
" Yeah so? Look Lucy I really don't wanna talk about this. It's prob..."
" NO listen! This balcony and also mine look at the condition of it"
" Okay, it's messed up like it's supposed to cause there was a 'storm' last night"
"That's what I'm saying!"
"Okay Lucy, If this was what you had to say I'm leaving"

Caleb began to walk inside the room murmuring to himself more like swearing at me, " Caleb, that girl was dry!". He turned his face towards me with a puzzled look and went like "dry?" like it was something new to him. " umm...yeah? Dry like look at the balcony it's wet and messed up due to the winds, my balcony is worse due to the flower pots being broken and all but that girl yesterday...", Caleb intrupted me, " Her hair wasnt wet neither did it move"
"exactly despite being windy and rainy, almost like she was an....", Both of us finished the sentence together " projection?". We both ran to my place in top speed without even saying goodbye to Calebs mom. Caleb grabbed the keys from my hand to open the door and yelled, " I swear if it's someone's prank I'll kill them". The house looked intact with a little bit of sunshine coming from the curtains. We both hurried upstairs and opened the balcony door. " There doesn't seem to be any projector or any devices here", Caleb said as he scanned the entire balcony. " Except one device, the CCTV camera that mom had fixed",  I ran downstairs to the computer room which was attached inside my drawing room, "I see you still play boyish games", Caleb said while catching up with me. "Now we have other important things to check caleb...", I opened the door and switched on the CPU, "...we'll have to rewind to last night's events".
" Do you remember what time it was?"
"ehh....I think about 6:00??....or was it even more late?"
"Lu! We'll have to check every hour now! "
"Can't we just forward it to check if there's a girl?"
"It'll still take alot of time "

Beep beep, I looked down on my phone to check my messages hoping it would be mom or dad but no, it was Rachel

FROM: Rachel
SUB: hey!

Hey Lu you okay?? 😖 You dint text me bck yesterday and neither did caleb also did your parents call you up?? 📞📞
Lets meet up later on near the fountain in St.Peters at 4:00 okay?? ⛲ I have something important to tell you 😫😫

Ps.reply after you read this

"What's up?", Caleb looked at me after setting the rewind timing.  " nothing much, I'm meeting up with Rachel later on"
" Ohh I see, you gonna be okay?"
"hmm yeah I'll be back soon", I gave him a reassuring smile and he gave a sigh, Suddenly the monitor went blank. Caleb stopped the recording and rewinded it slowly, the recording goes blank at 7:45:30 but at 7:45:00 the balcony door reflects a silhouette when the lightning flashes and it dissappear with the video. The video comes back at 8:20:15 and it shows the balcony door rattling and your typical storm scenes but no sign of the girl. I looked at Calebs face who was fuming with anger and I knew if I said anything right now it would be pointless and would create a fight between us so I left the room quietly and went upstairs. I went into my bedroom and sat on my bed scanning the bedroom. Everything was in its place, nothing seemed 'unusual' except last night's event. I looked at the watch to check the time and it was 2:30 so I texted Rachel

TO: Rachel
SUB: okay

Okay, I'll be there by 4 and I too have something important to tell you 😫

I opened my closet door and switched on the lights inside, the first thing I did after that was scream as loud as I could and collapse on the ground and after that Caleb came running into the closet worried and asked what happened but I dint have to answer that. The wardrobe mirror was broken and to that attached by a golden antique looking dagger was an envelope. Caleb pulled the dagger out while moving the glass shards with the sole of his shoes, " Is this dagger one of your dad's antique shit?"
I looked at it while getting back on my feet and said "No, I don't think so... I haven't seen it before". I walked towards him and took the dagger from his hand and examined it, the dagger was made of real gold and was embedded with sapphire, ruby, topaz, emeralds and other valuable gems. " This is must be shit expensive, if your dad see's it he'll be reaaaaaaally happy", Caleb said while opening up the 'extraordinary high quality handmade paper which tend to be more expensive than other ordinary cheap papers' like how my mom states it or just 'high quality papers' like my brother states it.

Caleb began reading the letter out loud..

TO :CALEB WOODS AND LUCY COLLINS

IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS LETTER AND ARE READING IT THAT MEANS YOU POSSESS HIS EYES

"This is the Lamest yet gone overboard prank ever", Caleb said while shaking the letter. That's when I noticed that there was a symbol behind it, I grabbed the letter off from Calebs hand and stared at it for a while." I recognised this symbol, I had seen it somewhere before....", but just couldn't remember where!. Caleb was about to say something that suddenly downstairs we heard 'CRASH!'
