The Devils Blood

Chapter 4

After hearing the sound of glass shattering downstairs, Caleb and I shared a look and hurried downstairs. Was it the girl? If it was why is she here again? Does she need something from me? More importantly how does she know mine and Calebs name?, there were so many questions going on in my head but the only answer I got when we came downstairs was that its a girl but not that girl. It was Rachel, Rachel was standing there with her mouth open in front of of a broken vase. It was a vase that I had made in 8th std at a workshop for mama to give on her birthday. Back then I waited the entire night for her with the house maid but she dint come back home due to her 'buisness meeting' And before I even knew it I fell asleep. Later on I had got up at noon and the maid informed me that mama loved my present and she kept it on the doorway so everyone who come home could see it, I was extremely happy and had told Caleb about it. But that happiness lasted only for few days. One day after dinner with daddy's buisness associates when we cake home mama looked at the vase and said, " Honey is this another one of your antique pieces? Did you waste money on something ridiculous looking as this?". I did not cry, did not speak a word neither look at her face and just headed straight to my room. She never apologised to me afterwards neither talk about it, dad kept it there and had once told me, " Sweetheart, that vase worths more than the total amount of all the antiques I have ever collected", but it dint make me happy or anything cause it had no meaning to it. Dad just wanted to make me feel better but he dint know that it was just hurting more when he lied like that, which is probably why it wasn't hurting me right now seeing it all shattered on the ground.

"I'm so sorry Lucy...I I...I.. I tripped and...it.. It just...", I intrupted and told her, " It's okay Rachel I don't really mind, I'll go get a broom stick and caleb get the first aid box her legs are bleeding ". Rachel looked down at both her feet and caleb helped her to the living room. I went into the kitchen and sat on the breakfast table chair for a while thinking about everything that's have been happening since yesterday. Why is everything happening in the first place? What have I done to deserve all this?,  I took a deep breathe and walked towards the fridge and noticed a sticky note on it. There were music letters on it, wait a minute, this was a score sheet. Where did this come from? Who put this up here?, I pulled the sticky note off from the fridge and grabbed the Broom stick from the storage room. I ran outside the kitchen and flug the Broom stick to caleb who was piggybacking Rachel and was saying, " Lucy even Rachel.... Woah Hey! What's the hurry?". I ignored caleb and went inside my bedroom, opened the lid of the piano and began rolling the clothe which was placed on the keys by then caleb came in with Rachel yelling, "hey! Don't just ignore us like that!!!" and placed Rachel on the cushion that was near the tea table.

Me:  "sorry about that but I need to play this song"

Rachel:  "you need to play a song right now??"

Me: "yes I have to!"

Caleb: " Lucy have you lost it? We need to talk right now!"

Me: " and I have to play right now!"

I stuck the sticky note on the music sheets and began playing the song as per the scores. One of the key wasn't working so I pressed it again, " why the hell isn't this not working!!". Caleb looked into the back of the piano and put his hand inside saying " There's something in there", I got up from my seat while stepping on a pedal "HOLY SHIT LU!! THAT HURTS! ", Caleb yelled while pulling out his hand holding a pendent. "I'm so sorry I dint mean to do that" I said while balancing myself. I looked at the pendent which almost resembled the girls eyes. "I got a similar one too", Rachel said looking at me with a frightened expression. That reminds me I was supposed to meet Rachel today near the fountain so why is she home? Caleb looked at the pendent and said "even I have received something similar but it was a ear piece not pendent but it looks alike, I thought Lucy dropped it so I had kept it in my pocket", Caleb removed it from his pocket and it did look alike just that the pendent was a bigger version and well that it is a pendent and that earing. "see mine too!", Rachel removed a pendent from her bag and showed it to me. I took the pendent from Calebs hand to examine it when the balcony door shuddered and the lightning flashed, there she was again the little girl staring at us. "why is she here again! ", Rachel yelled out with tears rolling from her eyes. "you've seen her too?", I asked Rachel while giving her a hug.

Rachel: "wait this girls been here too?"

Caleb: " this girls been everywhere I guess"

Rachel: "she is the reason why I came here, I was afraid to go home late but now she...she's here..."

In a blink of an eye the girl appeared inside, Rachel yelled while hugging me tight and caleb appeared in front of me impulsively. To be honest the girl was really beautiful, her black hair suited her fair skin almost like a living doll.
"the Lord awaits for ya'll ", she said in a monotone manner with no emotions. I looked at her confused and asked, "who's the Lord?",  she smiled at me and said "you'll know once we get there " she turned and there was a flash and so we did a mistake and that was we all...
