Ryver's POV
The rest of the day went by slowly. I got glares from a lot of the girls and smiles and winks from a lot of the guys. I was sitting my last class of the day AP English, waiting for class to start. The door opens and the most edible man I have ever seen steps in. He is taller than Ryan but not by much and is just a bulky. His hair was light brown and his eyes were deep hazel. I was shamelessly staring when those hazel eyes met mine. I blushed slightly but didn't look away. A small smile played on those perfect lips and I returned it.
He walked towards me and sat down next to me, as he passed, I got a whiff of him and OH MY GOD, he smelled amaze-balls. As he sat he leaned towards me, "Hi, name's Liam." I smiled, "Ryver." He nodded "I know, the whole school is talking about you and Sierra at lunch." I groaned and banged my head down on the desk. He chuckled and his deep voice sent a shiver through me. "Don't worry, someone else will be front page news by tomorrow. Plus, Sierra needs to be knocked down a peg or two." I peeked at him from the corner of my eye and he flashed me a smile. The rest of the class was spent stealing glances at the handsome guy next to me and every once in a while catching him looking at me.
When the bell finally rang, I got up to leave. "Hey, Ryver? Do you have a ride home?" Liam asked and the whole room stopped and stared, open-mouthed. I looked around and then back at Liam who shrugged. I laughed, "Yeah, I have my truck, but thanks." He nodded, "Come on, I'll walk you out, ya know in case you cause any more trouble." Then he winked at me. My heart stopped for a moment. I shrugged, "Yeah, sure." We walked out to the parking lot talking and laughing and stopped cold when I swore I heard a growl. "Did you hear that?" I asked Liam. He smirked, "Probably some stray mutt." I heard the growl again and his smirk grew into a grin. "Come on, Ryver. Let's see this wonderful piece of machinery you drive."
He raised an eyebrow at my truck when we reached it. "Hey, don't hate black beauty." I told him with the most serious expression on my face. He busted out laughing. "Really, you named your truck Black beauty?" I growled at him, "OK, hot shot, what do you drive?" He smirks and pointed at a brand new red Audi r8 spider. I shrug, "It's nice but too flashy for me. Plus, I worked hard for this baby, then me and Pops fixed it up so it runs like a dream." He smile was gentler, "Sounds like you did get the better end of the deal, then." I laugh, I am just about to say something when Luke shows up, giving Liam a rather cold glare. "Hey, bff, whatcha doin with the Iceman?" I cock an eyebrow at Luke. "Iceman? Really, what is this Top Gun? What's with the daggers your glaring?"
He flashes me a dimpled smile and shrugs, "I'm not Liam here's biggest fan is all. However, since you are my bff, I can put that aside. What about you, Liam? Can you put aside your dislike of me in order to be friends with our girl here?" They are both staring each other down and the tension is thick. I step between them and place my hand on their chests. "Boys, this is not necessary. I can be friends with both of you, but that doesn't mean I will force you to paint each other's nails and braid each other's hair, ok? Just chill out." They both chuckle and look down at me. "Ok, ok. I'll be good. I gotta go anyways. I'll see ya around, Ryver. Be careful with Black beauty." Liam winks at me as he walks off to his car.
I turn my attention back to Luke after Liam climbs into his car. "What the hell was that?" His green eyes meet mine, "Look, Ryver, I am not telling who to be friends with, but as your friend, I am telling you to be careful. Liam is trouble. OK?" The sincerity in his eyes causes me to nod. He lets out the breath he was holding. "Good, now maybe you could give me a lift, cause my car broke down and I don't wanna walk home." He gives me puppy dog eyes and I laugh. "How did you get here this morning?" He bats his eyelashes, "My mommy brought me, but she works late and it's just us two."
I shake my head,"OK come on ya big baby. Are you going to be ok by yourself at home? " He nods, "Yeah, mom won't be home til after nine, so it's mac and cheese for me." I climb in the truck and he jogs around to the other side. After he shuts the door I head to my house. "Um, you missed my turn." He tells me when I turn on my street. "Nope, no bff of mine eats mac n cheese for dinner. My mom is the best cook ever. You can eat dinner at my house, then I will take you home. I can grab you in the morning too if you want. It's on the way." I glance at him. He grins, "You really are my bff! I would love a ride. I could just walk to your house in the morning, what time do you get up?" I laughed, "Five." The look on his face was priceless. "Whatever for? You don't cake makeup on or any of that shit." I grin, "Five-mile jog, every morning." His eyes are wide, "You are insane!" I shake my head as we pull into my driveway. "Nope, Pop, the boys and I do it every morning."
