She spends a lot of time looking out the window.
"You're not thinking about that man, are you?"
She shakes her head and looks away from the window.
"You can't trust shapeshifters," I tell her, "They go against Gods will. They have no rules or morals. You're safe from them as long as you're here with me."
"I'm sorry," she whispers.
"You're lucky I don't tell them. You could get in a lot of trouble for this."
Her eyes widen. The system scares her. She thinks it's real.
"I'll keep it to myself, just this once," I go on, "because you've been so good."
She smiles. Her teeth are crooked. She's perfect. I hope she never changes.
