Luckfully, it was a dreamless sleep. I don't know why I was so scared to sleep. Well, I do know why. Sometimes, I'd stay up hours on end because I was scared of what I would see when I closed my eyes. Is it normal to see thousands of people die every time you close your eyes? I don't know much of anything anymore. Everything has changed. I just wanted some sense of normalcy. I wanted something that I can hold on to. I wanted a constant. I don't know what will happen tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that. I just wanted one day that I could depend upon.
I slowly fluttered my eyes open. I rolled out of my make-shift hammock and then stood. My eyes were welcomed to the Sky Needle. After wiping the tiredness from my eyes, I shook my head. I thought for a second.
I should move my hammock over next to the water so that that doesn't happen again.
So I stood up and stretched. I felt exhausted, but I knew that I had to start moving because time was being wasted. I picked up the bamboo and all of the parts to the hammock and then started walking. I had to remember the way back. After I passed the floating rocks, I only had to walk a hundred feet or so before I found the pond once again.
I walked up to the edge of the pond and looked down at the shiny surface of water. What I saw staring back at me was a stranger. It was my face that was the stranger. I had never seen my face before this moment. I didn't really know what I looked like, but I had an idea. My idea was very far off. I had chocolate brown eyes that melted when the sun crossed them. I had long eyelashes that flicked upwards. My bone structure was elegant. What was staring back at me was beautiful.
I stood up and walked into the water. When I drank all of that water, I was blinded because of how sick I felt. I didn't have the mental capacity to just sit and be thankful for finding the water in the first place. I didn't think to just soak myself. When the water went just above waist level, the black fabric that the Creators put on me; it changed colors. It changed to a light blue color and the gloves suddenly had webbing in between the fingers.
