Restrain your thought!
It said.
Being a slave and nought,
I paid.
Nod to each teaching,
It drawled.
With no questioning?
I brawled.
Keep the young mind at bay;
It preached.
Watch as it goes astray;
I screeched.
Let the queries be bold
Let the myths unfold;
Don’t preach the preacher,
Let reason be the teacher.
Move beyond
The song of slavery,
In thought and in deed,
Embrace the voice of gallantry.
Escape the devil
That represses your thought,
Seek and unveil
What’s not sought.
