A place so new,
Beyond the boundaries
Of a safe cocoon.
A taste of free will,
Calling on him
Enticing him.
Liabilities stem his steps, But
Eyes wander to
Curious interludes.
They beckon him
To explore,
To break in and relish.
He breaks in
For a fancied bliss,
And realization dawned, too late.
They are marbles,
From far, they are
A fantasy so tempting.
The exterior promises
A beautiful world,
A silver lining lasting forever.
One step in, and he tumbles,
As the illusion crumbles
Into a morbid rubble.
Not a silver line,
But a shiny shackle
Clasping hard on its prey.
His voice drifting,
His reason mislaid,
Like the thousand others, fallen.
Now more marbles
Wait in the bay,
Looking for another prey.
