"Getcho ass outta bed!" A loud voice shouted, waking me up. What the hell? I groaned and peeked one eye open, revealing an impatient Steve standing at the edge of my bed.
"Girl, I ain't gonna say it twice," he sassed while pulling the covers off of my body.
"Sí, chill! I heard you," I said while swaying my feet on the side of the bed. "How the hell did you get in here?" I continued, rubbing my eyes.
"You know no one in this house locks the door," he said shaking his head. "Oh, and in case you didn't notice, you are- we are bloody damn late"
I glanced at the clock as my best friend said those words, immediately jumping to my feet. God this is terrible, I must have slept through my alarm this morning. Last night I stayed up late since Jarno, my little brother, couldn't sleep.
"Oh gosh" I mumbled while rushing to the bathroom, dragging some clothes with me. I quickly brushed my teeth and brushed my hair before I put on my black jeans and a grey sweater.
"You better hurry up, bec-"
"What do you think I'm doing Steve!" I interrupted him in frustration, pushing some books in my bag while trying to put my shoes on, at the same time.
Steve just stayed quiet as he waited at the door for me, hand resting on the door knob. I gave my little brother a quick kiss before I ran to the door, sighing in frustration.
"Girl, you look terrible" Steve commented as he started to walk next to me.
"Shut up," I mumbled, knowing he was probably right. I just did my morning routine in 2 seconds.
"Oh so now we're grumpy too?" He said while raising his eyebrows. "You should be thankful I woke you up"
"I know, thank you." I said less moody. I adjusted my heavy bag on my shoulders, I couldn't wait to empty it into my locker.
"No problem honey, but seriously, you should tell your mum to lock the door. Next time it won't be your best friend waking you up" he said while trying to keep up with me.
"Yea, but she's never around. And if she is, she's probably drunk and forgot it by the next morning." I said while giving him a knowing look. He exactly knew how my home situation was, like the only one in school. My mother had some drinking problems and somehow she didn't care about her children anymore. Since my father died in a car crash, she just lost track. It's sad to see how such a beautiful woman lost it completely.
My mother is Spanish and she's always complaining that she hates America and wants to go back to Spain. Unfortunately, she can't. If she didn't spill all her money on drank, we could go back in the summer. We always used to go on vacation in Spain and we would dance salsa till deep in the night, but that was a very long time ago.
"Oh, I know babygirl, you know you can always stay at mine right?" He said while we entered the school.
"I know Steve, but I can take it" I smiled as I opened my locker and put the books I didn't need before the break into it.
"You say that now," he shouted before walking to his class. I chuckled at the way some people watched him, but I know he doesn't care. He was something else and I was happy he was my friend, my only one actually. I don't need anyone else though, he's enough for me.
I entered my class, suprisingly still on time, and walked to my seat. It was not really my seat, but I sit there every class so yeah. I missed Steve already.
As I sat there, I watched everyone walk into the class. There were a lot of different people and they were formed in groups. But I guess almost every school has that.
