Soon came Wednesday and Leslie was getting ready at the speed of light. Her newly black hair was now straightened instead of her usual, naturally wavy hair. She wore a dress that her mother had saved from being a bridesmaid a few years ago. By a few years, she meant over sixteen years because before pregnancy ruined her mother, she was actually very thin and beautiful. After Leslie was born her mother blossomed and began to smoke and drink. Then drugs came into the picture. But anyway, away from her backstory, this book is not about Leslie's mother. It's about Leslie. If you want to have a book based on her mother, go make one. The dress was a pale blue that deeply outlined her green eyes. Her shoes were a pair that she had bought in her Freshman year for Homecoming. She was rejected for that as well. Same circumstances as her last date. The shoes were a sparkly blue and the heel was three inches off the ground. Her eyeliner only coated the bottom of her eye. She was trying out a new mascara called Scandal Eyes. Her lips were stained bright red to go with her pale face. Leslie screamed and fell on the bed as her phone rang. How did that even scare me? She laughed and checked the text she had gotten. It was from Emma. 'Hey Leslie. Just wondering when you think you'll be ready?' Leslie thought of how to replay for a moment, only to respond with, 'I'm ready. Any time and you can come over. We can hang out then go to the shopping place.' She sat her phone on her bed and walked to the computer, checking the video that had been posted a few days before. Over three thousand views. Am I gonna turn into a meme? She thought to herself before shrugging. Just as she was about to sign out of Facebook, a status update from one of her friends appeared. Carmen Watters: Well guys, Leslie Summers has officially done everyone a favor and gotten out of our lives! She hasn't been at school since me and my hot date showed up at her house! Finally, she's gone. Okay, princess. This has gone way too far. Leslie pressed the comment button and calmly typed, 'Hot date and I* go act like you actually paid attention in your second grade English class.'
