Jerome's POV
She was dressed in her silk black nightgown and she smelled like the powder-scented soap in the shower. My spirits were lifted as she came closer to my side. She was so darn breathtaking without even trying. She awed at the view. Isn't she beautiful? "Yes she is" I answered aloud and she blushed. She went off to bed leaving me to ponder on the terrace. For the first time, my plan was working accordingly but I didn't have much time left. Both our weddings were in a week. I went over my schematic strategy and I just hope it all fell into place. I got tired and headed to my room and suddenly I fell asleep without knowing. "Rome? Wake up sleepy head" The aroma of pancakes, coffee and an angelic voice woke me up. I would love to wake up like this every morning. Only difference is, she will be sleeping with me every night. "Good morning, Becca" I groaned as I stretched across my bed. "I brought you breakfast" She smiled. "In bed? Be careful, you almost appear as a wife" I smirked just to tease her. "I was about to become your wife but..." She stopped but I continued. "Your dad stole you from me?" "You let me go" We said in unison. We were silent just looking intently in each other's eyes. "It wasn't like that Becca and you know it" I broke the silence. "It is like that! I cried and begged you not to let him take me but you didn't even budge" She stated looking down. "I couldn't disobey your father's orders. I wanted him to like me" I admitted. "That's not it! You didn't want to sacrifice your freedom for mine!" She shouted. I bowed my head knowing she was right. I knew she would see it that way. "Becca, am sor..." I tried to apologize but she didn't care. "Anyways, you slept in so I took a message for you. You were invited to a masquerade ball tonight at the... the..." "Silhouette Dynasty" I pronounced it for her. "That was tonight?" I asked forgetting my invitation. "What's the Salute Dynasty?" She asked still not being able to pronounce it properly. "It's a hotel in California. I wanted to bring you there by surprise but I don't think we will be able to make it" I told her with disappointment evident in my voice. "Yes we can. If we leave now, we will arrive about 3 hours late. Who cares? We always crash parties late remember?" She smirked and I smiled. We packed our things and checked out of the hotel. We were on the road again singing along to random songs that may play on my car's stereo. Becca turned it up as her favorite song came on 'Bailando' by Enrique Iglesias. We took turns singing the Spanish lyrics until it finished. She was an incredible singer. "We make a great duet" She laughed exhaustingly. I nodded in agreement and continued driving until I passed the sign that read 'California... 20 miles'. I sighed in relief knowing that we were almost close to the hotel. We were one hour late but a party wouldn't start without me so I remained calm until we reached. I woke up Becca and told her we arrived. She looked through the window. "Masquerade Bastion?" She questioned. "We're gonna shop here for our costumes then go the hotel." I told her and she screamed in excitement. We headed inside and tried on numerous outfits but she made me promise not to look at her until she was dressed. I was ready and was seated patiently waiting for her when suddenly... I was at loss of words. Black meshed mermaid length gown that had a meshi veil hiding one side of her face filled my eyes. "My queen" I whispered in awe. She wrapped her arm around mine and we entered the ball together as a couple.
