TOO FORMAL

Jerome's POV

The night at the red carpet was nothing I was expecting. I finally saw Becca after all these years and she looked exactly the same. Only longer hair, sexier figure and occupation which changed her personality completely. I can't wait to meet her this evening. To know how she have been and everything I missed out on. I announced my engagement after Becca left and Cindy went out with her friends afterwards. Yep, I was all alone. Cindy was constantly gloating and showing off the ring. I hated it but I knew that was the one she wanted. The ring I bought Becca was much more expensive and enthralling than Cindy's. It's funny, since then I was just an architect for my father's company and Becca got a rubric sapphire diamond with crystals. But now am the proprietor and Cindy got just a plain diamond ring. I went out to get breakfast alone at my favorite coffee shop. I took a seat at the extreme back. I tasted the coffee and smelled the pancake. It has nothing on Becca's that she made the morning in my apartment. I smiled to myself remembering the day but it was turned around after I remember that it was also the worst day of my life since I let go of her that day. "Could I get a coffee and pancake breakfast please" I heard my same order. I looked up and saw her. Twice in one week, it has to be a sign. "Why are you following me?" I smirked as she made her way towards the empty seat in front of me. "I am so not! This is my breakfast spot, thank you very much" She fold her arms as she sat down. "Mine too" I smiled. We stared pointedly into each other's eyes for a long second until she cleared her throat. "So Mr. Big shot huh?" She leant back. "So Ms. Paparazzi huh?" I mocked her. She laughed "Am the host for the show 'New York Gossip" "Am sorry I don't watch TV" I told her the truth. "Oh. Why not?" She asked. "Never get the time" I admitted. "I have a question" I told her and she nodded. "Why the change all of a sudden? Last night, it was as if you didn't know me" I asked trying not to feel hurt. "Because I was working. When I am on business I mean business. Strictly professional." She answered seriously. "Well, for that, I just reign checked our date" I teased her. "Firstly it's not a date, it's an interview and secondly, I called the reservation so you can't reign check on me Mr." She fought back. I will not let her win this fight. "Just watch me" I said then stood up to leave. I hope she runs after me. "Rome!" She shouted and I was so flabbergasted by hearing her say the name she gifted me after so many years. She approached me "I mean Mr...." "No. Its Rome to you, Becca" I placed my finger on her lip. "I'll be there" I winked then went to my headquarters.
