Previously on Forsaken:
an innumerable amount of stories, tales and legends can be born through the deeps of one's dreams, but it seems in the light of the day that's all they really are, dreams. But maybe in the light of day, even the same dream doesn't feel like a dream anymore, but a preposition, a truth to be born in the days to come.

I couldn't breathe, couldn't see, couldn't think as my eyes bolted wide open trying to take in too many of my surroundings at once.
My arms swung wide trying to find the nearby nightstand. swinging too far my fist collided with the lamp I had been searching for, a loud crash and shattering echoed through the room as it came crashing down to the floor, glass flying everywhere. I yelped as I fell from my bed, the air being forced out of my lungs on impact. My asthmatic breathing gaining strength while I tried to hold the bile so quickly rising in the back of my throat down.
But it was useless, the content of my stomach purging itself from my mouth as I crawled to the bathroom on hands and knees tears and snot coving my face.
My bedroom door swung violently open and my parents rushed into the room. My mother screamed something towards my father as she ran towards me her body colliding with mine as she pulled me into her chest. her hands rubbed up and down my face, trying to get me to make eye contact with her even as my vision suede and fell repeatedly.
" Breath Avisha!" she screamed her hands forcing my back to straighten, trying to give my lungs a fighting chance.
I heaved another load of bile onto the floor and myself.
"ETHAN!!! CALL 911!!" she screamed. Her hands frantically grabbing at my face trying to keep me sitting up.
"Stay with me child!, Keep your eyes on Momma!" "Ethan, Damn it where are you" Her screams were filled with frantic fear.
My father sprinted into the room his face completely red as he ran to me.
" They're on the way, but we live too far, we'll have to meet them halfway". He yelled frantically before reaching us and taking me in his arms.
" go start the car, Rose!"
Registering only A blink I was alarmed when I wasn't on the floor of my upstairs bedroom but rather in my father's arms as he ran down the stairs my mother close behind as she screamed at him to hurry up.
I let out a strangled yelp when the front door was kicked open and the below-freezing air wrapped itself around me and my father.
Unintelligible bellows rang out through the air as my body was shoved into the front of the truck and my father quickly stumbled in behind me his face flushed and sweaty as steam raised off of his unclothed shoulders.
Wasting no time my mother slide into the driver's seat and started the truck, her speed so great the tires spun out on the ice-covered concrete before the tire chains finally caught grip and forced us violently out of the driveway and onto the gravel-covered road leading us towards town.
She was screaming at my father as he searched furiously through the cab of the truck trying to find one of the spare inhalers stashed strategically throughout my entire social environment. A premature birth would do that to you, Give you extreme asthma and a body that wasn't built to hold it.
"I found it" he yelled victoriously.
He shoved the cold plastic device into my mouth, forcing my lungs to open as the cold vapor entered them. I gasped greedily, finally able to receive even the slightest amount of oxygen.
Sobs racked my body as I curled into my father the fear and anger previously enclosing my throat still prominent.
He CAUSED this, his forceful hands upon my throat, his deadly glare pinning me in my place, his horrid breath spanning its heat upon my skin as he broke my every will, HE CAUSED THIS!
Never before in my 17 years of life had his presence been so forceful in my dreams, had he always been there, Yes, his form first taking shape when I Turned 12, his body always seeming to be somewhere in my dreams, a slight glare here, a rude word there, a slap upon my arm as I Wandered the halls of my endless eternity.
But THIS...This nightmare had NEVER happened, never had he gotten so close for me to see his soulless black eyes, for me to smell the brink of death on his breath, Never.
"Lord Almighty Rose you're gonna get us killed if you don't slow....!"
And then it was there, building up inside of me, the last of my stomach's contents hurling itself from me.
My mom yanked the wheel as the bile covered her.
A sudden screech broke out through the cab as the tires lost traction swerving us from the back road, A large bump caused the truck to momentarily leave the ground and plummet off the road as the truck hurled itself into one of the many oak trees encompassing the forest running parallel to the man-made road. My father's body slammed into the dash in front of him as I was lifted from the middle seat and hurled forward over the dash and out of my father's grasp.
I screamed my arms instinctively coming up to try and block my face as I plummeted through the windshield, watching even as my mother's head bounced off the metal steering wheel, her forehead now oddly shaped inwards. A sickening crack accompanying the odd shape. The glass shattered all around me. Its Greedy teeth burying deep into my face and arms The pain so excruciating, but there wasn't enough time to scream, to cry, to yell; to do anything as my body slammed into the ground, a sickening crack flying through the air as my head hit the ground, HARD.
My head bouncing up and down at the contact causing my vision to dip and swirl even as I struggled to keep my eyes open. So at that moment I just couldn't, couldn't keep my vision straight, couldn't focus through the pain, couldn't breath, so I just... didn't.
letting the darkness consume me, wrap itself around my broken and swollen body in a cloud of calm and composure as my eyes closed for what felt like the last time.
