The Dragon  stared down Sage and Ryan; flames spewing from its jaws, its golden red eyes full of intelligent hatred.Sage and Ryan stared back with gazes of equal intensity.

"Come on Zen." said Gregor. "Attack, or will you leave the fate of all these innocent people to those children?"

Zen and Gregor continued to walk their circle. Every few seconds, Zen looked down  the street hoping to see, the other hunters coming to their aid, but there was only the tower of black smoke and the sound of people shouting.

Zen wondered if saving the people was really taking so long or...had Gregor set another plan in motion.

Gregor sighed. "You disappoint me as always, Zen maybe you need more incentive."

Gregor rummaged through his pocket and pulled out a glowing red sone.

Pop

The  stone exploded in his palm. Zen stopped in his tracks.

"You didn't." Zen gasped.

"Oh yes, I've removed 'the limiter' I'm interested to see how this affects all the enchantments I've casted." Gregor said, smiling at the street below.

As if on cue, the screams of dozens of men, reached his ears. Zen broke the circle and ran to the edge of the roof top; the screams had come from the burning buildings ..and Zen,as usual, could see why.

Ghostly figures of grey and black smoke, poured out of the buildings like running water. Leaving dark vapor trials as they flew around.Zen let his flow rush to his eyes and his sight magnified and sharpened.

Th monsters flew through the crowd grabbing people and flying back with them into the burning buildings, assaulting them claws of hardened smoke;he saw Ms.Georgia running from a pack of them. Zen saw one smoke creature fly down a little boys throat, suffocating him.

"Nnoo!!" he screamed as he took in the seen.

The smoke finally became too dense and Zen lost sight of everything. He pressed his hands against Gregor's invisible barrier and he whispered under his breath "I-I don't want to die...I don't want others to die..Sage..Ryan..do something, I'm beg you."

"Pathetic!" Gregor scowled, he snapped his fingers once again, and the dragon charged.

Here it comes, Sage said over their mental bond.

I'm not blind. Ryan responded.

They charged together.

The dragon's entire body exploded into a fiery mass of death; it picked up speed as it ran, the heat of its body singeing the hair on the boys' arms.

Shit they thought at once, and took off in the form of sparrows.

The dragon zoomed past them and continued to destroy everything in its path.

Sage shouted over the mental link.

We need to come up with a plan! Now!

A plan for what exactly? Ryan shot back. The dragon, the freaky, demon tornado or the fire breathing ice sculptures below us?!

Umm...all of them I guess. Sage admitted.

The tornados too far. Ryan said. Right now that's breeze compared to the problem in front of us.

They were silent for a moment but with the madness happening all around them it felt like a lifetime.

Sage broke the silence. I'll take the dragon.
