AVERY
"You know Shawn's a dick right?"
I stopped at my tracks as my feet find its way to turn back around. My mind swooping everywhere but seeing Cameron walk after me made me focus on one thing. I still couldn't handle the contemplation of my feelings as well as the smile he's wearing. Can it be a genuine or fake as Blaire's appearance?
"Why are you here?" I murmured, surprisingly flushed from Shawn's whereabouts.
He stifled a laugh, "you're not the only one confused, Avery."
He gently picks up a rock while we stop behind the old museum not so far away from Nash's. He throws it emphatically and turns back to me.
"Enlighten me," I scrutinize his expressions, though I only see an innocent-faced Cameron.
"You didn't answer my question."
I huff, is he being serious right now?
"Shawn's just... bewildered. Screaming his mind off doesn't make him a dick."
"Says the one who cried for over a week just because the guy never said they're a thing." He frankly told me in my face. I tried picking up myself in the moment but I hadn't had the urge to because he was right.
"It's not your business Cameron." I turn to walk away but he keeps on trailing after me.
"I can see your pain Avery, you're making it too obvious. You can tell me Ave, just.. a cause for a friend."
I went to recognize his words. This isn't him, Cameron would never ask me like this. But should I even consider telling him the unfinished business between me and Shawn? I know, it wasn't his place after all. That sentence would never refer to him as being concerned, besides he was a jerk to me for two weeks. Sure he was there to assure me that night, or he showed me his hidden nature or called me last night saying how sorry he was but that doesn't do me for the truth. Cameron is still the wild card as for being a "friend" he was talking about, it's not that I don't fully trust him.. alright you got me. I don't trust him, just yet.
"Stop Cam, you aren't my friend." I return to walking but the adamant guy behind me keeps on following me. His voice still lingers on my ear, how his secluded laugh turned me on for a second. Okay stop now, Avery.
"Come on please, Nash wants me to look after you."
"Or you insisted? He could of done it himself." I snap still not turning around. And him being the persistent he is, he goes over to front of me and held both of my shoulders to stop me from walking. He faces me, which caught me to stop in my tracks but I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes at him.
"I'll take you to the coffee shop with me now. And this is not a request, it's a demand."
"Ugh! Are you freaking serious Cam?! I want to be with myself. Myself." I argued but he dodges me right away from ever heading towards the other direction and then shocked me by grabbing me by my waist and carries me straightaway. My feet dangle in the air, and my mad squeals are rejected as he continued on walking with me unable to move even a bit. My whine only causes him to laugh and I swear if he let me down I'll slit his throat from laughing devilishly at me.
"There's no escaping now. Oh god Avery you weigh just like my pillow, and that's a good thing." He chuckles once again but I keep on suppressing a straight face at him and of course he wouldn't regard that.
"And a bad thing, 'cause you'll get carried easily by bad guys and that's not cool. I should always be by your side 'cause I'm a good guy."
