Chapter 21: Planning

Sparkle and Samuel announced their engagement to the kingdom just a few days later. They were thrilled. Not only did they have their princess back, but they would have a Lord as well!

Samuel had made it clear that he would be a LORD and not a PRINCE, as he said it was 'degrading' which Sparkle found quite amusing.

Now, the wedding planning was in full swing, ponies from all over Equestria were helping with the preparations.

Sparkle, Star and Moondrop stopped by Ponyville. The Mane 6 were also helping with the wedding. Sparkle tapped her hoof on the door to Rarity's boutique. The door quickly swung open, showing a small white unicorn with a curly purple and pink mane.

"May I help you?" She asked, not seeing Sparkle's wings because of the black hoodie she wore, which she had stolen from Sam.

"Hello, I am here to see Rarity about a dress. Who might you be?" Sparkle asked.

"I'm Sweetie Bell. I'll go get my sister for you." She said, then disappeared inside the boutique.

"She seems like a fun unicorn!" Star exclaimed as she rubbed Moondrop's head, causing him to lick her hoof.

"Then why don't you go play with her while I get fitted for my dress?" Sparkle asked.

"Ok!" Star exclaimed.

The door reopened and a familiar beautiful white unicorn appeared.

"Sparkle! Darling! It's been far to long, how've you been?" Rarity exclaimed, glasses perched on her muzzle.

"I'm great, Rarity. Thank you." Sparkle said.

Then Rarity led Sparkle into the boutique. Star and Moondrop went to play with Sweetie Bell while Rarity asked many questions about Samuel's proposal.

Finally, after several unsuccessful tries, they found her perfect dress. Rarity made a few adjustments on the size, and then promised to bring it to the wedding.

"Thank you so much Rarity. It really means a lot." Sparkle said, walking out and slipping on her/Samuel's hoodie once again.

"It's no problem, my dear! Any time!" Rarity says as she waves.

Next, Sparkle visited Pinkie Pie, as special request of Sam, to check on reception planning. Then she visited Fluttershy to check on the music. After, she went to Applejack's to check on the food. When she was stuffed till she thought she would pop, she visited Rainbow Dash who, by Sparkle's request, was performing a double sonic rainboom (a secret skill Rainbow had) and check on that.

Last, she visited Twilight. She walked to the treehouse library, and knocked. Star had taken Moondrop to the cafe for lunch, but Sparkle was still full from Applejack's. The door opened, and Spike led Sparkle to Twilight's room.

"Twi?" Sparkle asked as Spike walked away.

The purple unicorn turned to Sparkle. Her eyes flashed and she ran over to the princess.

"I found what you asked for. But I'm warning you, it's not what you think." Twilight said as she handed her a book.

The title read:

The Princess of the Light and The Lord of the Dark: The Child

Sparkle tucked the book under her wing, under her hoodie.

"Thank you Twilight. I'll see you at the wedding." Sparkle said, then exited the library.

She met Star and Moondrop at the cafe and together they went back to their kingdom.

And back to the never ending days of planning. But Sparkle wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
