Chapter 27: A Royal Wedding

The day finally came. New preparations had been made, and everything was ready. Sparkle smiled as she looked in the mirror. She had waited for this day for a long time.

A knock sounded at the door.

"Come in." Sparkle said, adjusting her crown one last time.

The door to Sparkle's room opened, revealing all of the Elements, along with Star Shadow. The little unicorn's eyes widened as she looked at her mentor.

"Sparkle! You look so pretty!" Star said as she ran and gave Sparkle a hug.

"Thank you. So do you!" Sparkle told the little filly who was their flowery filly.

The Elements were next, they were Sparkle's bridesmaids. They each came in and congratulated Sparkle, wrapping her in hugs. Last, was non other than Black Halo. Samuel had chosen her for the spot of best mare, grateful that she had helped Sparkle escape from Danny.

"You look really pretty." Halo said, glancing down.

Sparkle knew the pegasus wasn't very social. She smiled and raised Halo's head with her hoof.

"As do you." Sparkle said, causing Halo to blush and turn away.

The Elements were all wearing the same dresses as they had at the Canterlot wedding, with only a few alterations, making them completely black and white. They also had masks. Star Shadow was wearing a completely white dress with black lace accents. And Black Halo wore a pure black dress, with white embroidery.

Finally, Sparkle wore a long, white wedding dress made from 'The best silk in all Equestria' as Rarity called it. It had golden accents and trimmings. Her mane was up and curled. She wore her tiara, necklace, and shoes as well. But probably the most surprising things were the three earrings that studded her each ear. Sparkle had decided to get them done after she had healed from the fight with Danny, for she felt like she had changed inside, so her outside should show that change.

"Are you ready, Princess?" Applejack asked, smiling at Sparkle.

"Yes. I am." She replied.

The bridesmaids, Star and Halo left then, leaving Sparkle alone with her thoughts. She began to get nervous then, pacing around her room until she felt like the walls were closing in. Doubts began flooding her mind, until she felt like she was going to faint from the pressure.

She stopped in her tracks, shook her head and stomped her hoof.

"I am NOT the weak mare everypony thinks I am. I am stronger than that, and I WILL show it." She said to herself.

At that moment, she vowed to stand up for herself and prove to everypony that she wasn't just a damsel in distress. Then, she realized that was exactly what she had done in the fight with Danny. She had proved she can take care of herself in a difficult situation.

But now, she had to take on another big challenge.

But she was ready.

Celestia looked at Sparkle, then Samuel. Sparkle could hear her parents crying in the audience. Other than that, everypony was silent, waiting. And as Sparkle looked around, she realized that there were ponies from all over Equestria at this wedding.

She turned and looked at Samuel then. He was dressed in a suit jacket, and a bow tie. Sparkle laughed silently to herself as she found comfort in his red eyes, which were locked on hers.

"I now pronounce you Mare and Colt. You may kiss the bri-" Celestia said, but before she could finish, Samuel and Sparkle were already kissing.

The reception followed directly after the wedding. Sparkle and Samuel made their entrance, talking to old friends, and making new ones. Samuel had pulled a few strings and got Vinyl Scratch and Neon Lights to DJ. They even got Pinkie Pie up there to sing one song!

The whole night was full of fun and dancing. Love, friendship and happiness. And the whole kingdom was happy.

The time soon came for Sparkle and Samuel to leave for their honeymoon. Samuel had planned for the location to be a surprise, and Sparkle had no idea where they were going. But she didn't care. As long as she was with Sam, she was happy.

Before she stepped into the carriage after Sam, Sparkle threw her bouquet out into the crowd. She turned to see Black Halo holding the pink roses, smiling and waving at Sparkle.

She got into the carriage, which then began to drive away as the sun set, creating a beautiful sunset to end the wedding.

"Hey Shimmer?" Sam asked as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Yeah?" She replied.

"I love you." He said.

Sparkle sat up and leaned over to Sam, wrapping him in a hug and kissing him. She pulled away, smiling.

"I love you too."

~Several Moons Later~

Sparkle ran around her room, emotions flying through her. She didn't know what to think.

Moondrop lay on her bed, watching her as she ran. He had grown quite a bit since they moved here, and now he could easily take up half of her bed at night.

Sparkle paced back and fourth, thinking.

What was Sam going to say?

Sparkle would find out soon enough. Just then, the door opened and Sam entered the room. He saw Sparkle's worried expression and immediately ran over to her.

"Shimmer? What's wrong?" He asked, looking her over to make sure she wasn't hurt.

Sparkle shook her head.

"Nothing. It's just....." She drifted off.

"Just what?" Sam asked.

"Sam, I...." Sparkle looked away.

Sam nuzzled her comfortingly. Sparkle took a steading breath and look her love in the eyes.

"I'm pregnant."
