Friendships are one of the most exquisite things in life. The bond that two people share of everything and nothing is one of the purest form of relationships.

A lot of people had claimed that it was nearly impossible for a girl and guy to remain just friends; they were right in Y/N and Theo's case. No one ever thought that Theo was even capable of loving someone more than he did power.

Which is the reason why Theo began to resent her.

He was terrified that she might become intolerant to his past, and all the horrible things he'd done.

Contrary to his feelings, Theo ended up at Y/N's doorstep in the middle of the night; the combination of rain and cold wind sending shivers down his back and his teeth were chattering.

His heartbeat wouldn't settle while he stood behind the closed door, rubbing his palms against his arms in attempt to warm himself up.

"I shouldn't be here." He muttered to himself and ran his fingers through his hair, leaving it disheveled. Having being defeated by his emotions, Theo rang up Y/N's phone and waited impatiently.

A couple of moments later, "Hello?" A seemingly very exhausted and very soft voice replied. "Can you come outside?" Cutting straight to the chase. "S-sure." The hesitant note in her voice caused his nervousness to grow.

Y/N threw on a cardigan over her pajamas and stumble down the stairs. The rush of cold wind embraced her body as soon as she opened the door.

"Is everything alright?" Her squinting eyes were sore from the bright street lights. "I need to talk to you, I know this is not the right time and frankly, this is somewhat selfish of me but I really couldn't sleep because of this." His head hung shamefully low as he spoke.

"Come in," she stepped aside and he made his way to the couch. "Can I get you anything?" She stood so gracefully in his eyes.

"No formalities, please." She nodded and strode to sit down next to him, so close their thighs almost touched. She turned her body to the side and crossed her legs; she was facing him.

"What's the matter?" She gently caressed his shoulder, urging him to speak. "I'm in love with you," he blurted out mindlessly. Her brows disappeared into her hairline in shock; eyes as wide as saucers.

"And sometimes, it feels like I can't breathe without you. You've gotten into my bloodstream Y/N." Her eyes remained unblinking, he her almost jumping out of her chest.

"I-I don't know what to say-"

"Say you'll give me a chance." His hopeful eyes earned her sympathy. Y/N's hand traveled from his shoulder to his cheek, stroking it softly.

Theo leaned into her palm and sighed in content. "I won't make you regret it, I promise. And although you may not believe that my love is enough for you-"

"It is. It's enough; you're enough, Theo."

Y/N gently took a hold of his hands and wrapped them around her waist; she tangled her own in his hair and pressed her lips against his.

He inhaled sharply through his nose and firmly gripped her hips.

"I love you too, Theo." She muttered with her eyes closed. "I love you more, and I promise you that I'll try my best not to ruin this. For you I'll try."
