eloise’s pov

I stepped into his oh-so-familiar apartment the next morning, greeted by snores drifting from his bedroom. I laughed quietly, placing my purse down on the kitchen counter, and removing my heels. I had black skinny jeans on, matched with a dark grey t-shirt, as it was a bit warmer today. I padded through the kitchen and into his dark bedroom, where a sleeping Niall was positioned. I giggled, unlocking my phone, and going into timer. I set it to a Car Horn, and set the time for 20 seconds.

My timer didn’t fail me, and twenty seconds later, a loud car horn blared in the room, making Niall jump up in surprise. He sat up, looking over at me smiling apologetically. “Sorry, I slept in. Again,” he said, as I laughed. “No worries, I’ll be out in the kitchen,” I said, smiling, as I slipped out of the room. I took a seat on one of the bench stools, and unlocked my iPhone. I went straight onto Candy Crush, my addiction at the moment. I couldn’t get passed level 29, which caused me to curse frequently at this game.

Niall walked in, his hair damp from a shower, with loose jeans hanging low on his hips, and a white t-shirt, the usual. “Lets get started, shall we?” he said, rubbing his hands together, retrieving some bowls and ingredients. “I was thinking we should make some cupcakes, and use the fondant and food colouring to make little santa’s and reindeers?” I suggested, cracking an egg into a bowl. “That would be cute,” said Niall, chuckling. We got too work, mixing up the batter and spooning it into little cupcake cases.

Niall put them in the oven and set the timer, before helping me tidy up the mess that we made. I held up the cup of flour, picking some out with my fingers, and flicking it in Niall’s direction. His head snapped up to look at me, smiling mischievously. I unfortunately did not notice the egg in his hand, which was thrown at me shortly after. The egg yolk slipped down my hair and on the floor, my hair damp. “You did not,” I said, standing there in shock. Niall laughed. “But I did,” he said cheekily. I picked up the bag of flour, walked over calmly, and emptied over half of it onto his head.

Everything, from head to toe, of Niall was covered in flour. He wiped it out of his eyes, and looked up at me, a smile growing on his face. He scooped up some left over batter in his hand, and through it at me, which landed on the centre of my nose. It then just escalated from there. Various things were thrown. We both stood there, looking at our surroundings, before bursting out laughing. “Ugh,” I said, giggling, wiping the random junk out of my hair. Niall laughed. “You can go and have a shower if you want,” he said, pointing to the right. “Thank you,” I said, walking out of the room and into the bathroom. I locked the door and immediately removed my dirty clothes, stepping into the shower, the remains of food washing down the drain.

I borrowed some of Niall’s shampoo and conditioner, massaging it through my hair, trying to get rid of the smell and look of the food in my hair. I washed my body with a bar of soap, and stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my body. I wiped my wet feet on the bath mat, and unlocked the door and opened it. I found a neatly piled stack of clothes, with a note written on it.

‘Here’s some clothes of mine, I hope they fit. Niall xx

I smiled and picked them all up, and walked back into the bathroom, changing. It consisted of a sweatshirt and a pair of track pants, which were a little big, but they were manageable. I walked out of the bathroom, combing my fingers through my wet and tangled hair. Niall had cleaned the kitchen and had the cupcakes on the counter to cool. “Do they fit?” said Niall, smiling warmly at me. “Yeah, thank you,” I said, smiling shyly. “Welcome. Now while the cupcakes cool, I’m going to have a shower myself. You can watch TV if you want, the remote is over there,” said Niall, leaving to the bathroom. I took a seat on the couch, switching on the television, to see if there was anything interesting on.

I ended up settling on a Christmas special, one of the ones we watched yesterday, named ‘Elf’. I sunk down onto the couch, my eyes growing heavy. I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer, and eventually they drooped closed.

“El? Eloise?” whispered Niall, poking my shoulder. My eyes snapped open to be greeted with Niall’s very intense blue eyes. “Oh, uh. Sorry I must’ve fallen asleep!” I said, sitting up. Niall laughed. “I was waiting for you to wake up, so we can do the decorating together,” said Niall cutely. “Sorry to keep you waiting!” I said, yawning. I stood up and followed Niall into the kitchen, getting out the sprinkles and the fondant, while Niall got out spoons and the food colouring. “I can make the icing, and do you want to make the little figurines?” said Niall, getting a bowl and a mixing spoon. “Sure,” I said, opening a packet on fondant. Niall mixed the icing sugar and water together, stirring them together, while adding drips of green now and then.

I started on Santa first, making a little red body, and adding a head with a white beard, and a Santa hat of course. I gave him little gold buttons, and black boots, with a white frilly trim. After Niall had iced all of the cupcakes, I placed Santa on top of one, smiling at my masterpiece. “There! Now we have to make lots of Santa’s and Reindeers,” I said, as Niall laughed. “Okay, you can make the Santa’s as you’re good at them, and I’ll try to make the Reindeer’s,” said Niall, grabbing a piece of fondant himself.

The end product of the Reindeer wasn’t too bad actually, for Niall’s first attempt it was very good. We spent the next two hours making Santa’s and Reindeer’s, then sprinkling little snowflakes over the cupcakes. They looked very cute, if I must say so myself. We washed our hands in the sink, then treated ourselves to a cupcake, with about 20 or so left. “These are actually pretty good,” said Niall, licking the crumbs off his lips. “I know right,” I said, sinking my teeth into the delicious cupcake.

“You have a little, something…” trailed off Niall, as he leaned in. I froze in shock, as Niall pecked the corner of my lips, his tongue sneaking out slightly to lick the icing off. “All better,” he said, smiling warmly. My cheeks flushed red, as I thanked him, awkwardly.
