Shortly after Asher left, Payton started cleaning her apartment. The months that she spent away had really aged the place. She found many things in the dusty couches, such as pennies and dollar bills.
Many of the things that she'd thought she lost were wedged in between her furniture, and by the end of the day, Payton formed some kind of sickness/allergy to dust.
She found herself sneezing at everything. There was only one thing that Payton was allergic to- lilies. Payton couldn't find any lilies around the house, and was curious as to why her nose was so clogged.
Looking at herself in the now-clean mirror, Payton saw a pale girl with green snot around her nose and red-rimmed eyes. Her lips were accentuated , and her cheeks were rosy.
There was only one thing that Payton could do at a time like this.

"Mom!" Payton screamed as her mother spilled chicken noodle soup on her onesie, "These are designer!"
Her mother sighed, as she wiped the orange stain off with a tissue. "Payton, I know you're cranky and everything, and I know it's probably not the best time to bring this subject up..."
Payton glared at her mom, as she started rambling on and on about the mystery subject.
"What?" Payton snapped.
Payton's mother rolled her eyes, as she sheepishly said, "You know, er, I think that you and Nate would make a better couple now. I heard that he still has the hots for you."
Payton's glare turned 100 times more murderous as her mother started blushing.
"Mom! I am not going to date that loser!"
"Honey," her mother whined, "You guys would be so cute with each other! I demand that you go on a date with him tonight."
Payton yelled at the blonde in front of her, "Mom! I'm freaking sick!"
"Oh, Pay. A little sneezing didn't do a guy any harm. When your father and I went on our first date..."
Warning bells rang in Payton's head, as her mother started bringing up her parents' happy marriage.
Without any thought, Payton blurted out, "I have a boyfriend, Mom. And, er, we're going out on a date tonight."
Jane, Payton's mom, looked at Payton dubiously. The wheels in Payton's head started spinning, and she continued, "I'll bring him over here so you can meet him, around 7:00."

Loud bangs were heard by Payton's neighbors as her head hit the wall simultaneously. How the heck would she be able to find a fake-boyfriend? Payton would just have to come clean and tell her mom the truth.
She picked up her penthouse's landline- yes the apartment had a landline (how 20th century, right?)- and dialed the number she had come to memorize.
Knock! Knock! The door was vibrating due to the pressure of the knocking.
Without even bothering to look though the peephole, Payton opened the engraved mahogany entrance.
Her body went limp as she saw the visitor, someone she hadn't wanted to meet ever again.
