A young girl crept outside of the shadows, her dirty blond hair flowing in the wind coming from the broken window in front of her. Her blue eyes shone with too much sorrow for such a small child as a single tear trickled down her tiny, dirty nose. Her big brother or what amounted as a big brother was going to leave today forever.
"Jenny? Jennifer, you better not be at the cliff! It's forbidden. Don't get in trouble on my 18th birthday of all days! Alison wants everyone in the main hall, anyways." The deep voice startled Jenny as she sighed, wrapping her ripped clothes closer around her thin body and reluctantly stepping away from the beautiful view of the City of Lights.
"Coming, Dan!" She called, her voice cracking with dehydration. She took the large hand of the ginger-haired man who came looking for her and let him drag her away.
