Misty grabbed the persons wrist and twisted it all the way back, almost breaking it, and the person let out a very girly scream. But this scream sounded familiar. She quickly turned on the light, still holding on to the struggling wrist, and was shocked to see Violet dressed in all black, pitifully trying to break her grasp.
"Violet?"Misty yelled in confusion " what are you doing here!?"
"What, I don't get a hello?."
"What, I don't get a heads up before you start scratching my face?"
"Yeah, um sorry about that I couldn't see anything."
"Misty who's that?" Asked Scarlet when she got out of the bathroom." Oh this is my best friend, Violet."
"Hi ." Said Violet smiling her beautiful smile. Scarlet cringed, she couldn't believe this girly person could possibly be Misty's best friend.
"So what's been happening at the castle?" Asked Misty anxiously. Violet sighed and muttered " I have good news and bad news, the queen has been inviting that Amy girl over a lot and now she's actually staying at the castle! Plus she keeps giving Jake lectures about how you ran away and are never coming back-"
"Does he believe her!?" Interrupted Misty going crazy with her anticipation. "No I heard her talking to him one time and I told him about how his mom hired a assassin for you when she found out you weren't a real princess." This time Scarlet interrupted saying
" wait you posed as a princess?! Why?"
Misty sighed and explained to her about how it was the princes idea because he didn't want to dance with the other princesses and how it snowballed into them falling in love.
"Anyway," Violet continued "the bad news is that Jake is starting to believe that your dead and is starting to fall in love with Amy."
Misty stumbled back wards and had to steady herself with the bed. Scarlet didn't say a word and just went over by the window and starred outside. "What am I going to do?" Asked Misty through her tears.
"I know one thing, you better get your butt up there so he realizes who he really loves." Misty smiled at her reply. Violet always did know how to make a sad situation funny.
"Wait how did you get here?" Asked Misty after a while.
"Oh I'm visiting a cousin here and he told me he saw you heading in here."
"No I meant how did you get in our room?"
"Oh I climbed in threw the window."
Misty and Scarlet both stared at Violet in disbelief." Your joking right?" Asked Scarlet. "No the front desk wouldn't let me up." Said Violet. Scarlet was shocked as to how she could act like this was all perfectly normal!
Little did they know that the secretary at the front desk was a worker of the Queen. As soon as she saw Misty she immediately phoned the Queen and warned her.
"So, where's your cousin?" Asked Misty, trying to change the subject. Just then a silhouette of a very muscular man came walking out of the water. Scarlet looked out the window to see what was coming and seconds later a very handsome man's face popped up just inches away from Scarlet. She gasped and jumped back from the window, bumping into the chair.
"Ian! What are you doing here?" Yelled Violet angrily
"I got worried when you didn't come back after a while." He said
"Well I'm fine." She muttered
"Guys, its getting late you should just stay here until morning." Said Misty
"That's sounds nice, yeah well stay."said Ian
Violet took a quick glance at the huge crack in the wall and the dirty carpet then shook her head in agreement. "Ok."
Scarlet smiled to her self and helped Misty get the blankets out and set them up by her bed. Suddenly a loud flash of lightning came and filled the whole room with light so bright all you could see was white. Everyone froze until the sound of rain crashing against the building could be heard again. Ian dashed to the window and tried to shut it but the Windows's wooden lining had rot away so it couldn't shut all the way.
"I'm sure it'll pass soon."ensured Misty.
That storm continued all night.
"Ok they're all asleep."
Whispered Cassandra into the phone. In a little hut not far from the inn a huge, muscular man has slammed his phone down and grabs a jar with an African scorpion in it. He pulls it out of the jar to make sure it's the right one, throws on his coat and trudges outside. He slowly sloshes through the mud to the inn swearing as he falls in a mud hole. Finally he makes it to the building and starts to climb the tree by the wall with the jar tightly tucked under his arm. Once he gets up to the third floor he opened the jar and out walked the scorpion.
It slowly crawled through the crack in the window as he jumped down from the tree. Another flash of lightning. The branches were throwing themselves against the wall. The Scorpion crawled past Ian as he snored in his sleep, it's body glowing in the dark. In slowly moved it's way up the comforter and on Misty's shoulder. It froze as it watched Violet stir in her sleep next to Misty. A huge thunder came and Misty's eyes flew open to see it ready to strike. She glanced at her night stand and thankfully saw her knife laying there. She slowly moved her hand along the bed and grabbed the handle. Seconds later another strike of light came and Misty quickly cut it's tail off. She threw her knife on the floor and grabbed the scorpion by the thorax. She was surprised to see a scorpion in Ciraka. She started to examine it and gasped when she saw a purple orchid with a gold sword behind it, the castles sign. She quickly shook everyone awake.
"What's going on?" Asked Violet, rubbing her eyes.
"They know we're here." Said Misty seriously. Ian shot his head up when he heard that.
"Then what should we do?" He asked
"Not we, us." Scarlet said gesturing to her and Misty. "No they have to come with us." Said Misty as she turned her head towards Scarlet. She raised her eyebrows in confusion and questioned " they do? Why?"
"Because they know their connection to us and if we leave them here they'll die!" She half way yelled. Scarlet sighed and huffed "fine." The kids took the provisions they needed and snuck out the window. They went into the water and and began to swim down stream. Jake, here we come.
