We light the coal, the bowl is already packed. Meranda puts the coal on the foil covered bowl. I, being the designated "starter", take the first puff. I inhale the "smoke" is warm and dense. The taste is amazing a minty-watermelon which tastes unbelievable. I take another inhale, exhale with my favorite smoke, the dragon. When the smoke, milky and dense, dissipates.

I see the faces of my three best friends; Alli, Meranda, and Leda. Alli is a philosophical genius, metaphorical god, but sadly grew up to fast. Meranda, who love poetry, is an amazing artist, and reads books every moment she gets.  Lastly, Leda. She listens to music every second of everyday, has a bad case of social anxiety, and is the most girly of the three. I take a second hit from the hookah, faint music playing in back round. A song by Our Last Night, I think its called Liberate me. I really like the song.

Then a siren starts, I can't tell where it’s coming from. It gets louder and louder to the point that it drowns out the music. I get so annoyed I investigate; I turn the TV on to see the news. The cable is out though. It strikes me as peculiar. I glance out the window, and see a bright light dwindle in the distance. It begins to parish the buildings and consumes the landscape. Everything is perishing in the light. As the light gets closer I turn to them and say, "I love you guys." They hear the tremble and fear in my voice. I turn back to see where the light is and its even closer. As i shed tear they get up and we have one last hug together. We all say in unison, "I love you guys so much..."
