Valkyrie walked besides Skulduggery, as he strode angrily down towards the hospital wing. She didn't say anything, didn't dare. She was still recovering herself, and Skulduggery was just throwing a royal fit, because he didn't want Dr. Nye working on him.
It's not like his alter ego was trying to push through his head and destroy the world. No, Vile had already had his turn.
Valkyrie thought about what had had happened. Was it a trap? Was that the only reason Tanith had been so interested in how she was going? Or was Tanith becoming more and more like her old self?
Valkyrie shook that thought out. That was just wishful thinking, and if there was one thing she had learned it was that wishful thinking was just a waste of time in the end.
"Valkyrie! Skulduggery!"
Valkyrie was yanked out of her thoughts, and her eyes focused on a girl, not much older than Valkyrie herself.
Skulduggery and Valkyrie slowed their pace down, until they stopped and waited for the girl with the fiery red hair to calm down.
"Oh my god, hi."
It looked like Skulduggery wasn't going to say anything, so Valkyrie smiled politely, nudging her partner in her rib, none to softly.
"Hello...?" Valkyrie let the silence linger in the air and the girl nodded and smiled brightly.
Valkyrie watched Skulduggery's head cock slightly, but he remained quiet.
"Oh, gosh sorry! I'm Vivian. I'm the new detective here, and the Grand Mage set me off to find the two of you! He said you guys would see if I was ready to do what you guys do!"
Skulduggery grumbled. "That is not our job. Go back to Ravel and tell him I said no. Come Valkyrie."
Valkyrie smiled, and followed him down the hall, leaving the other girl a little dumbfounded.
"You could have been nice," Valkyrie hissed and Skulduggery shrugged as they walked into the room to see Nye.

Vivian glared down the corridor, listening to their fading footsteps. Damn Tanith and her stupid plan. Vivian's anger overruled her, and the signs of the remnant inside her showed itself, veins spreading over her face and her lips going black.
Vivian turned invisible, and Tipstaff walked around the corner, a cleaver trailing behind him. Vivian pushed herself into action and she walked to the front of the Sanctuary and got onto her bike.
Once she arrived at Tanith's she pushed the front door open, and slammed it shut.
"This plan is never going to work!"
Vivian stormed into the kitchen, and looked over the counter at Tanith who sat on the couch, a glass of red wine in her hand.
"I told you, Viv. We're better off with my plan."
"But they know who I am!" Vivian huffed.
"Had you been talking to them for longer than ten minutes?"
Vivian frowned, "no I don't think so. And Valkyrie looked distracted, and the skeleton didn't look at me at all."
Tanith watched the other girl's eyes glaze over. "Viv, no."
Vivian focused on Tanith's face, "what?"
"You're already becoming obsessed. Okay, you're never going to come before Valkyrie so stop thinking about it."
Vivian scowled, "whatever. Are we going?"
Tanith grinned, "tomorrow."
