Expanding Egos

"Why?" She questioned, it wasn't every day that Valkyrie missed out on a case.

"Because you will get hurt okay Sanguine is... Different more dangerous I can't lose you Valkyrie. I'm sorry, and besides I'm The Skeleton Detective I can handle him," Skulduggery didn't, couldn't, let Valkyrie get hurt he had such little time with her left before she would destroy the world and his goal would be to destroy her.

"Now is not the time for you to be expanding your ego, Skul, and besides I'm The Great Valkyrie Cain, I can handle one loser with no eyes and a stupid strait razor, the rat deserves to die once and for all. I want to rip out his fingers and make him count. If he looses count I'll slow-"

"Okay, okay you can come, before you live up to your psychopathic tendencies, and you're telling me not to expand my ego I can practically see yours," she gave him a maniac grin and he became a bit worried. Every day he lost a little bit of Valkyrie and gained a little bit of Darquesse.

Once they arrived at the Sanctuary Skulduggery knew that Valkyrie was excited, the girl hadn't been allowed near Sanguine and she was ready for some payback. They found Grand Mage Erskine Ravel in his throne doing paperwork. "Ravel," Skulduggery said, "the case, we need the last sighting of Billy Ray, do you have it?"

"When was the last time the man actually started a sentence with hello," Erskine wondered aloud.

Skulduggery tilted his head to the left, "sorry Grand Mage" he started ignoring the groan of protests from Erskine. "It must be so rude for someone of the likes of me to treat someone of such high power with disrespect. I shall watch myself in the future. Valkyrie."

Valkyrie took a side along glance at the skeleton and sighed. Why was he such a pain in the ass?

"Grand Mage, we are going after Sanguine and we are going to kill him, but unfortunately we can't do that until you give us a report so unless you want to die hand it over," she said sweetly while stalking towards where he was sitting and glowered down at him causing him to cower in fear and slide the report over the easily breakable desk with a shaky hand.

"Thank you for your cooperation" and with that they simultaneously turned on their heels and walked out of the room perfectly in sync with each other.
