"Is it possible to be in two places at once?" I asked Sadie as I dropped my tray of food on Sadie, Trey and I’s table in the cafeteria. It was towards the back of the place, near the plastic trees they had set up around the whole cafeteria to make it look better. It was just a normal table but the trees made it look like one of the nicer tables so it worked out.
"Um not that I know of. Why?"
"Because Dylan wants to get together after school at five to work on the project for Media Studies." I replied, plopping into my seat.
Sadie almost choked on her salad, "Dylan, as in Clarke? You two literally got paired together? I thought I was just hearing things."
I nodded, unwrapping my sub sandwich, "Yeah, I don't see how that's such a big deal."
"He's only the hottest guy on school grounds! You're so lucky!" She grumbled.
"Says the girl who has a boyfriend." I laughed. Sadie rolled her eyes but got right back to the subject at hand.
"I don't see the problem though." She stated.
"The problem, is that my Maid of Honor dress fitting is at five. I didn't realize this until Dylan was long gone. Megan's expecting me, but if I don't show up at Dylan's he'll be even more mad at me than he already is, but then again I’m mad at him too. Not to mention if I don't go to this dress fitting Megan's going to go all bride-zilla on me." I sighed, finishing my rant.
“Okay, one, geez girl you’ve only made his acquaintance less than four hours ago and you’ve already managed to get in a fight? And two, why not just reschedule, compromise?” Sadie suggested and continued to chomp on her greens.
“Because,” I sighed. “There’s no compromising with Dylan Clarke. He’s a rich, leather jacket wearing tool, he gets everything handed to him and expects everyone to do whatever he says.”
“Well, then you’re in some pretty deep mud my dear best friend.”
I rolled my eyes, resting my elbow on the table and my chin in my hand. “Gee, thanks for the advice.”
“You’re welcome!” Sadie grinned cheekily.
I rolled my eyes and tossed a chip at her, but she dodged it effortlessly. I pouted and went back to eating my sandwich and chips. While I was eating I thought over Sadie’s suggestion about talking to Dylan and rescheduling, it shouldn’t be too hard to just approach him and ask.
As continued to eat my lunch, my dear best friend decided to bring up the topic of the Black & White Ball, which I attempted to shut down. I didn't want to talk about it, especially if Sadie was going to rant about how I should go with Matt Marshall. He was the most sought out boy at school, aside from Dylan and I just didn't see how a guy that gorgeous could have any interest in me. To me, it seemed utterly ridiculous, but I have to admit that it was a dream I wished would come true.
But of course, Sadie managed to get a few sentences in.
“And- Oh my God! I wonder how Matt will ask you, will he be calm and collected? Totally sweet and innocent? A complete tool and do the whole ‘you, me, dance.’ thing? Ugh boys are just so confusing and totally impossible to read!” Sadie exclaimed, throwing her dainty hands up in the air for emphasis.
“What about boys being confusing?” Trey asked as he approached the table with his tray between his hands.
“It’s just that you guys are absolutely, positively the most confusing beings on planet Earth. No offense babe.” Sadie informed him as he took a seat beside her.
