I was dreading Media Studies. For the past two days, Dylan's been avoiding me and honestly, it was getting on my nerves. Every time I saw him in the hallway he would turn around and go the other way. And on Wednesday when Mr. Newman gave us time to work on the project he didn't even acknowledge me. I didn't know why he was avoiding me, but I was determined to find out. Even if it meant I had to annoy him all day.
Sadie wasn't at school today for reasons unknown so I was alone in Media Studies. Well I had Dylan but it wasn't like he would be speaking to me today. As I walked through the door into the classroom I noticed the person occupying Mr. Newman's desk wasn't Mr. Newman but a substitute. I groaned quietly. That meant we would have a free period, which meant we'd have to work on the project. Dragging my feet slightly I walked over to where Dylan sat.
"So, are you going to keep ignoring me?" I asked him, plopping down in the chair beside him. In reply I got absolutely nothing.
"I'll take that as a yes." I sighed. Throughout the whole block Dylan continued to ignore me, as if I wasn't even there. I was fine with it at first, but now it was just down right ridiculous, I mean we had a project to work on! Deciding to be patient though, I pulled out my iPhone, plugged in my earphones and began listening to music, letting the beautiful voices of 5 Seconds of Summer fill my ears. I then took out my notebook and started my English homework.
As soon as the bell rang Dylan was up and out of there. I wasn't surprised though since he was ignoring me. Huffing, I packed up my things and swung my backpack over my shoulder. As I made my way out I noticed that Dylan was standing by the door, camera bag in hand.
"Here, it's yours tonight." He handed me the bag and then stalked off. I stood there for a second, registering what just happened. It might have been for just a second but at least Dylan finally said something to me.
"Gee, what crawled up his ass and died." Sadie mumbled, suddenly appearing beside me. I elbowed her playfully and slung the camera bag over my shoulder.
"Where have you been?" I asked her.
"Dentist appointment." She said, pointing to her perfectly straight teeth. I nodded in understanding.
"I'm serious though! For the past two days he's been acting like the world ended or something. By the way you never told me about what happened with you two and that paper airplane thing." Sadie pointed out as we walked down the bustling hallway.
"Oh yeah, I guess it just slipped my mind." I shrugged carelessly. After a few seconds of silence, I peered through my peripheral vision and saw Sadie give me a look.
"What?" I asked when I turned to her, that look still on her face.
Sadie rolled her eyes, "Are you going to tell me or what?"
"Oh yeah! Ha, sorry." I smiled sheepishly. I then began to recite the events of Monday with Sadie hanging onto every word I said.
"Wow." Sadie breathed once I had finished my story.
"I know, and all because of a stupid paper airplane." I grumbled as we stopped in front of my next class.
"Well hey, fate works in mysterious ways." She sang.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "Don't you mean God works in mysterious ways?"
"Ugh! It's the same thing!" She groaned. I giggled and bid goodbye to my friend as I entered the classroom before me.

What am I doing. I thought to myself as I stood in front of Dylan's door. After him ignoring me the past two days, today I had decided I should just stop by his house and demand what was up. Nicely, that is. What I failed to think through though was what if Dylan wasn't home, or even worse what if he opened the door, saw it was me and then slammed it in my face. Now that would be very rude, but I wouldn't put it past Dylan to do something like that. Shaking all negative thoughts from my mind, I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. A few seconds later, a familiar face appeared in the doorway.
