I woke up this morning not as I usually do. I felt kind of weird, like.. sick weird. "Nononono" I muttered. Today is the skateboarding auditions to Sk8tes. I cannot be sick!! I've waited years to join the coolest skateboarders in this city! I couldn't join because they said I was underaged!! Can you believe it?!

But this year, I finally could, so I can't be sick.

"I am going to those auditions!!" I announced

Well, here I am back in my room with my parents. Yes, I got caught. Turns out, my parents know when I'm sick because I cough every five seconds, sneeze every 3 seconds, and look like I'm going to puke. "But mom, this is the year, THE year, I could finally audition!!"

"Sorry sweetie, health comes first" My dad patted me at the back.

"Dad, you know how I lived this dream of mine" I continued to protest.

"Well, since we can't watch you overnight since your father because your brothers and I are going to visit your grandparents we could call-"

"Not Aunt Jenny!!" I cried.

"No dear, we could call your friends" my mom corrected.

Hmm.. ok.

"Yo bro!" Ashton called. I turned around to face him. We've been fine since Summer and I started dating.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Since tonight's the Kwan reunion, go bring your girlfriend" Ashton suggested and my eyes widened.

"U-um.." I hesitated nervously

"What? You guys broke up?" Ashton took a step closer to me.

"N-no she.. uh is on um.. vacation" I stuttered while trying to find an excuse.

"Dude, she's at the door waiting for you" Ashton pointed to Summer who waved at me from outside our door.

With a nervous chuckle, I waved back.

"What? You gonna stand there? Or are you gonna say hi to your girlfriend?" Ashton asked looking suspicious.

I scratched the back of my head.

As soon as I recovered, I went inside to see Summer. "There you are!" Summer ran to me.

"Summer what are you doing here?" I asked trying to signal her that my brother was here. As soon as she glanced at Ashton and went back to me, she got it.

"Oh! Umm Tomika is sick and her mom called that we should take care of her" she answered with a smile

"Taking care of Tomika?? That sounds impossible, no thanks" I declined without hesitating. "Her mom promised she would pay $35 each if we could keep her in bed"

My eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store.

"Ok, let's go!!" I grabbed her hand and headed outside as fast as I could

"Woah, Zack, slow down" Summer wiggled her way out of my grasp.

"Summer, Ashton still thinks we're dating and if we don't act like we're together, he will punch me in the arm, make fun of my height and my hair, I cannot let that happen, please don't make it happen!!" I begged.
