As soon as the twins were out of his car and back in the library, Scott let out a shaky breath and basically sped down the empty roads to get to the next town over. He needed answers about what had happened and why there was a sudden pain in his chest when Mitch was glaring at him and Kirstin was scared. He just had a feeling he wasn't going to quite like what these emotions meant.

When the white-haired man had finally reached his hotel, he just about ran to the elevators to get to his room. Before the doors to the lift had even closed, he was pulling his phone out of his pocket and dialing the private line him and his sister used. It rung twice before a soft voice came through.

"Hello? Scott?"

"Yes, Eliza, it's me," he responded, sounding out of breath.

"Today was the date night, no? How did it go?" She asked with a smile in her voice. Then she paused for a second. "Have you been running, Brother?"

The elevator dinged and it's silver doors slid open so he hopped out just as an elderly couple walked in. The pair had the audacity to stare at his hair like theirs wasn't grey. But he ignored them and hastened down the ugly carpeted hall of the fourth floor to his room, phone tucked between his face and shoulder while he patted his pockets for his keycard.

Eliza called his name and prompted him to reply.

"Oh, um, I just returned from the date and it- well it went. And I wasn't exactly running. Just speed walking perhaps."

Scott located his room key and slid it into the door. When the lock flashed green he sighed in success and entered, immediately putting his phone on speaker, then setting it down on the bed so he could pace. He had never been this troubled before. It was always calm and focused with him, that's why he got sent on assignments so often.

"Elaborate, please. I'm no good without details," Eliza reminded.

"I'm afraid of what you'll tell me, but I'll make it quick... I took both the siblings out, you know, kill two birds with one stone," he tried to laugh, but it fell short due to him being too busy freaking out. "It was going well until the male got hurt and started bleeding."

Eliza sat up at this, Scott could just picture her doing so. "And why would him bleeding be a problem. Our kind has evolved, we are controlled... What did you do, Brother?"

He walked pass the white sheeted bed then turned around and went the other way. Back, forth, back, forth.

"I had to use a blood bag as an emergency save. The smell of his blood was so intoxicating," he breathed, "and I knew if I didn't get away, I might have bitten him. So I sent him to go clean up while I ran off to the car to drink, but the sister followed me. She saw."

"Scott, what the hell?! You turned and let her see you. Where is your self control and training?!" Eliza shouted and Scott winced as if she was here in person. He was supposed to be the older sibling, but hey, she was scary sometimes.

"That's just it, I don't know. It worked out okay, they revealed they were sirens and gave me a chance to redeem myself, but I had no control once I smelled him," he groaned. He ran a hand down his face in frustration. "He was mad at me at first and it made me want to drop to my knees in submission and beg for his forgiveness. I sort of did beg, I guess. Then I gave him my shirt and our scents intertwining together almost made me crash the damn car. I-I'm actually missing him, right now. "

"You're right. You should be afraid of what I'm going to tell you because no one's scent should make you do that, or make you long for them... unless they are your other half," she said hesitantly. "Your... mate."
