The girl had told Tyler and I that she would have to tell us privately as it was secret information. Before we could even say anything about the wolves she got up, moved the desk from in front of the door, walked outside and confronted the wolves. She looked like she was talking to the wolves but in her head. It made no sense at all and the strangest part was that nobody else seemed to have noticed this. After this the wolves went and everyone went back to normal as though nothing even happened. Just if that really was the case, but unfortunately it wasn’t. The girl whose name I now know is Tara helped Tyler and I to bring Jade home.

And that brings us back to now, the present moment. We’ve just got home and are now in the living room of Tyler’s house. Tyler looks at Tara with a serious expression “Well, spit it out. Who are you? How do you know us? And-“

“OK, OK! My name, as you already know is Tara and I’m a half-blood, witch and agent. But not your ordinary agent. I’m an agent for a certain pack, the shimmering moon pack, your pack.” She’s paused giving us a chance to take it all in.

“Did you just say pack? As in a group of werewolves.” Tyler laughs as he looks towards me “are you listening to this madness.” He looks back at Tara “Yeah Tara i’m gonna turn into some hairy beast with claws. Watch out cuz the first person i’m gonna bite’s gonna be you, then you’ll turn into a hairy beast to and we’ll run to the top of a building and howl at a full moon. What do you think we are? Ten year olds. Jade is in the other room fighting a battle between life and death and you’ve brought us here to tell us some teenage fantasy story!” He was now shouting. I put my hand on his shoulder to calm him down. Tara doesn’t look the slightest bit phased, as though she was expecting a similar reaction. She crosses her arms across her chest and leans against the wall. She looks at me as though asking permission to continue so I nod my head and she continues.

“No I’m not here to joke around or tell you some teenage fantasy stories, i’m serious. And please don’t mock werewolves. Let me see, how I tell you this.” She pauses deep in thought. “OK. I’ll tell you from the beginning. Please just listen and everything will unravel itself. If you still have questions then wait till I finished.” She looks at both of us, nods her head and then takes in a deep breath. “Well here goes… Michael and Tyler both of you are werewolves and so is Jade. All three of you belong to the shimmering moon pack. There are others in the pack as well. Shaynon, who I believe is your brother Michael, me, a few others and Adolpha but in short we would call her Addie.” She looks at me as though expecting me to say something. What happened to no questions till the end? Now she’s practically asking me to say something.

“Am I supposed to say something?” She shakes her head and looks at the floor.

“Don’t you recognize the name?”

“No. Should I?” I don’t think I’ve heard the name Adolpha before in my entire life. I’m sure I would remember a name like that.

“She was your mum.” She whispered it so quietly I almost didn’t hear.

“W-what?” I was standing there shocked. Did she just say what I think she said?

“That’s where you and your siblings get your werewolf blood from and very strong blood for that matter.” Im too stunned to say anything so I just continue to gape at her.She sighs and then continues. “Your mum was the alpha of the pack. She was a great women and she definitely fit her name perfectly-“

I cut her off, “Wait, you knew my mum?”  How is that possible? She can’t have known my mum, I mean I’ve never seen her in my life before and here she is upset about the fact that my mum is dead as though they were close friends. They couldn’t have been though, could they?

“Yes. I loved your mum as though she were my own. My mum and your mum were very close. I saw her every day. She was an amazing person. The greatest person I’ve ever met. It’s a shame she was killed.” She turns to the side to wipe her tears away but I already noticed them. She looks really upset; she must really have loved my mum. My heart softened and I believed her. I remember a time when my mum had spoken about a girl and how she was a wonderful girl, kind, soft, sweet and caring. She said that she would take Jade and I to see her one day, she believed that we would be great friends. I have to admit I did want to meet this girl that my mum happened to be very fond of. That was a week before she died. In the end we never got to meet this girl properly, we had seen her face a few times but it was so long ago that her face isn’t very clear in my head.  I look at Tara as she turns around. I stare at her face for a few seconds. Her face is starting to look slightly familiar. I narrow my eyes as I try to remember. Of course!

“You’re her!” She’s the girl my mum used to talk about, the girl whose face I had seen a few times but didn’t remember. It makes sense now. How couldn’t I have remembered? Tyler and Tara are just standing there staring at me. They look so confused, it makes me laugh. They look at each other and then back at me. The look on their faces just makes me start laughing harder. They actually look worried now. I can tell their obviously confused but i’m not. Not anymore. “You’re the girl my mum used to talk about, the sweet, kind, caring girl that Jade and I should make friends with, the girl we should meet, the girl we would love.”  I laugh again and tears come to my eyes as I remember my lovely, kind, beautiful mum. “The girl I had always dreamt about. Whose face was always in my head and then gradually became a blur as I got older. The girl I was finally going to meet that day.” The memory of that day came flooding back as I remember everything clearly, how I was waiting by the door holding Jades hand. My tears are now flowing down my cheeks like a fountain as I let the memories take over me. Tara knows where I’m going with this story. I can tell because she now has tears spilling down her face as well. I never told Tyler this story so I can understand why he’s standing there confused and worried at the same time. Unsure of what to do. I look at Tara seeing if I should continue. I don’t know why though, perhaps it’s because it involves her. She nods but turns her head to the side as I continue.

“That day ….”
