I awoke to the sound of my mom trying my locked door and calling my name. I stood shakily and found to my surprise that my body had recovered immediately and was instantly awake and alert. Filing this information away, I made my way to the door and grasped the doorhandle firmly. I abruptly paused, unsure of whether my mother would notice the drastic changes that had wreaked havoc on me and my personality. Well, I said, unlocking the door and succumbing to my better knowledge, It's now or never.
As I opened the door, my mom's expression went from upset, to confused, and then to that famous motherly concern look. "M-Mila w-what.... " she stuttered , she cleared her throat. " Mila what happened to you?" "I... Mom, I..." despite my heightened thought process, my initial confusion and terror overtook me and I crumpled sobbing into her arms.
Mom let me cry there, until I had gotten over it and the new Mila had grabbed the reins once again. Only then did she ask for an account of the events that had been underway while she was preparing dinner downstairs. I conveyed to her the event that had taken place. I told her of my stalker, of the Change, of everything. I had a dissapointing reaction, though. Rather than giving me comfort, she seemed opposed to the whole thing. She was very nervous and worried, something that I didn't expect from her. She understood the fear that resided in the situation, but she didn't understand the novelty of it; the thrill at my awakening. The Great Awakening, I had named it in my head. The Great Awakening. The thing that had changed my forever. I would always be different. Never the same ; never normal. I couldn't decide, was I happy or sad ? Dissapointed, or thrilled?
