Rain patterned down on her window as her eyes grew heavier. She resisted greatly, anxiety greatly rising in her mind as the thought  of the reoccurring dream crossed her mind. Peyton closed her eyes, taking off her glasses and rubbing them with her shirt, but putting them in her drawer beside her bed anyways. Putting her head in her hands, she mumbled to herself, sighing. Standing up from her desk, Peyton took off her flannel and draped it over her office chair, then took off her jeans and grabbed her sleeping shorts off of her drawer and slipping them on. Half heartedly, Peyton glanced at the clock. It read 2:45. She rolled her eyes as she sat down on the bed, her tiredness pulling her in more as she layer down on her side. The lamp light was already off, and her vision blurred as she shut her eyes, letting her uneased mind slip into sleep.

Peyton darted down the alleyway, panting. Her legs were screaming at her to stop and rest, but one glance behind her made them pump even faster. It was the same darkness, same ending, and same places everytime. But something was different. It was raining. Glancing back at the charging darkness once more, she stopped, already knowing there was a dead end wal, Infront of her. Turning around, she stared into the void of darkness, her eyes wide as the coldness of it engulfed her, strangling her. She still felt the rain pouring down on her, but the scenario  wasn't over. As the darkness continued to strangle her, she saw an outline in it. A dark shade of green could be easily yet barely seen, but she didn't want to see anymore, and she closed her eyes. A hand grabbed her wrist and yanked her out of the darkness, and she opened her eyes once more. Before she could make out her surroundings, an ear splitting electronic screech rang out.

Peyton jolted up with a start, looking frantically around. Looking at her clock, it read 6:39, once again, she had only gotten four hours of sleep. Closing her eyes, she let out a yawn. But as her eyes closed, the green flashed in her mind, making her close her mouth and open her eyes back up. The dream was indeed different than the others, but why was it? Where did the green come from? Questions swirled in her mind, but she shook her head, closing her eyes once more, and flopping back down on the bed, needing more sleep than she had gotten. Once more, the green flashed in her mind, but there was a face as well. Not recognizing this face, she shrugged it off, letting herself fall back to sleep. The image stuck, but she had already made a mental note to bring it up to herself later.
