Peyton's P.O.V

The trees whispered around me as I continued to walk down the trail, the fall leaves swirling around me as a buffet of wind blew past. I could faintly hear the bubbling of the creek as I took a turn, going off of the trail and finding the one that I had made for myself. The creek appeared behind a few gorse bushes as the trail shortened and was cut off. Grinning to myself, I stepped through the bushes and stood beside the creek, admiring it. The stepping stones in the creek glittered in the dappled sunlight that shone through the trees as I stepped onto each one until I got to the middle one, the widest rock. I criss-crossed my legs and sat down, careful not to get my shoelaces caught in the small current that bent around the rock. Pulling my phone and earphones out of the pocket of my hoodie, I put one of the earphones in and turned on my music, relishing in the sentiment that nature gave me and the music that let my mind go blank and let my imagination run free. I closed my eyes, rolling up my sleeves and dipping my fingers into the small current. The dreams had faded, but each time I had one, it seemed to reveal a bit more each time I was close to waking up. Each time, it was almost the same as the last. But the only difference was that in each dream, I could see him more clearer. My eyes shot open as I heard a twig snap, and the wind picked up harshly. Paranoia sank into my mind deeply as I looked at the sky. I had been here longer than I had intended. Looking at my phone, my heart dropped. It was currently 8:26 PM. I stood up carefully, my legs shaking a bit, and I unplugged my earphones and shoved them into my hoodie pocket, keeping my phone out and flicking on its flashlight, stepping from stone to stone back to the bank. The wind continued to blow around heavily, pushing me this way and that. I stood my ground, my feet slipping, but the wind still urged me forward. Growling I turned around, only to be faced with a harsh buffet of wind, and blank, glowing white eyes, but they were swallowed by darkness before I could grasp my situation. My eyes were wide and wild and I turned back around and sprinted as fast as I could, gripping my phone tightly, the light emitting from it swinging with each arm movement. Suddenly, everything was mute. The trees weren't moving, but I could feel a slight breeze passing by me. I couldn't see the trail. Everything was getting consumed by black and white. I couldn't move. My phone was gripped in my hand tightly, but I lowered it, flicking off the flashlight, and putting it in my pocket. Taking a few deep breaths, I regained my composure, deciding to look around a bit. I felt a light raindrop fall onto my face as I turned my head up to the sky, looking at the bleak white that the sky now showed. What was happening. A few more raindrops fell as I faced forward, walking forward. A trail appeared, it seemed to be.... sand? Following the trail with many thoughts brewing in my mind, the trees faded into a vast, sandy moorland, smooth rocks plastered in the ground. The sun was falling westwards, sinking into the waves that neighbored the sand. I felt numb, my eye lids drooping. My gaze grew hazy as I felt myself moving forward. I couldn't move, open my mouth, or blink. I felt myself move left, and a boat dock faded into view, and I walked onto it. I backed up and sprinted forward, and then leapt. My gaze was engulfed in darkness, and I felt the cold,  heavy waves wash over me as I sunk to the bottom, closing my eyes and letting all of my problems float off into the shadowy water around me, finally smiling a real smile, not a mask.
