"The train began to move, and Harry walked alongside it, watching his son's thin face, already ablaze with excitement. Harry kept smiling and waving, even though it was like a little bereavement, watching his son glide away from him. . . .
The last trace of steam evaporated in the Autumn air. The train rounded a corner. Harry's hand was still raised in farewell.
"He'll be alright," murmured Ginny.
As Harry looked at her, he lowered his hand absentmindedly and touched the lightning scar on his forehead.
"I know he will."
The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well." (-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling)

15 years later...

Rori's POV
She grabbed her mother's hand as they approached the innocent looking brick post.
Not so innocent, are you? I thought.
"What was that, honey?" Her mother asked.
She blew out an exasperated sigh, realizing she had said that out loud. "Nothing, mom."
"Okay honey. Look, we're here!"

She trailed behind her mother towards the brick post, lugging her suitcase and her owl cage behind her. "Mom, could I get some help here?" she asked, gesturing to the luggage around her feet.
"Oh! Of course sweetheart," she replied, rushing over to help her with her bags.
She watched as her mother picked up a small golden trunk.
"Mom," she said, confused, "that trunk isn't mine."
Her mother looked down at the suitcase as if it would tell her who it belonged to.
"Maybe it has a name tag on the inside?" she suggested.
"Let me take a look..." her mother murmured, unbuckling the trunk.

All of a sudden, the trunk flew open and she let out a breath she had been holding.
Looking up at her with those sparkling chocolate eyes, was her younger brother Erik.
"What are you doing in there, buddy?" her mother said calmly. Her mother had always favored little Erik. Always Oh look how cute he is! and He's only a little kid! You should know better, not him!

As much as she loved her little brother, sometimes she resented how he was treated like a king next to her, the peasant.

"I'm going to Hoggiewats!" he said in his bubbly voice.
"Not so fast there, little buddy," her mother warned sternly.
"You know you still have to wait six years to go to school," she told him, bending down to his height.
"But I wanna go to Hoggiewats NOW!" he whined.
"Erik, mom said no and no means no! Just get out of the trunk! Ugh! Why did I even have to come watch her leave? I could be playing softball!" Interjected Kaci, stepping out from behind her father.
At that moment, Erik burst into tears.
Great, I thought. Just perfect. They don't even realize that the train leaves in five minutes!

"Now, now children. Listen to your mother," her dad said soothingly.
They all hugged, and I was forced into the middle of it.
Through a hug-like chokehold I muttered "I hate to interrupt the hug fest, but the train leaves in five-scratch that-three minutes."

Her mother shrieked and they all broke away from the hug, scrambling around and grabbing whatever luggage wasn't already being carried.
"Okay everyone, lean against the post!" her father ordered.
Everyone obeyed, even the stubborn Kaci.
"Now on three, we all fall in. Got it?" Dad asked.
There were four murmurs and nods, meaning everyone understood.
"One.....two.....three!" Dad exclaimed, and everyone fell through the barrier onto platform 9 3/4.

Olivia POV
She watched as a family of five fell through the barrier and sighed. She remembered when it was her that was getting on the train for the first time. She kissed her mom goodbye and got on the train to go back to Hogwarts.

Lauren POV
I put in my Muggle earbuds and looked out the window at the last people rushing through the barrier and the people boarding the train. I was the only one in my compartment, and I liked it that way. Quiet made for better sounding music.

All of a sudden, my iPod started going haywire. My mom had told me that would happen when there was a lot of magic in the area. I took out my Muggle earbuds and put in my magical ones and turned on the Weird Sisters.

I heard the compartment door open and I turned up my music a notch. The girl started waving her hands in my face, obviously she wanted my attention. I pulled out my earbuds and put on a fake smile. "How can I help you?" I asked politely.
"I was just asking if I could sit here," she replied, gesturing to the booth across from me.
"Sure," I said, standing up to help her put her bags away in the compartment above, seeing as she was a lot shorter than I was.

"What's your name?" She asked.
"My name is Lauren, what's yours?"
"My name's Rori, nice to meet you Lauren." She said quietly.

I heard the compartment door open yet again and groaned internally. More people?

This girl simply stepped on the booth next to me to reach the compartment and shoved her bags in it. She grunted and sat down next to me, shoving me over a bit.

At leas she wasn't showing any signs of wanting to talk.

Rori had pulled out a Muggle book and absentmindedly fiddled with a keychain on her purse.

The silent girl spoke up. "What are your names?"
"My name is Lauren," I started, "and her name is Rori," I said, gesturing to the girl with her nose still in the book.

The previously silent girl was on a roll now.

"Cool. Yeah, my name's Tara and don't mess with me. I bite."

At this, Rori looked up aghast. Tara just laughed at the horrified look on Rori's face. Rori simply shrugged and went back to her book.

Tara mumbled something about books being stupid and then abruptly snatched the book out of Rori's hands. Rori grabbed at the air around the book as Tara waved it around just out of her reach. "Give it back!" Rori pleaded.

I spoke up. "Just please give it back to her," I said with a sigh.

Tara mumbled something about me ruining all the fun and reluctantly handed Rori back her book.

There was a few moments of silence before the compartment door slid open again. This was so annoying I couldn't handle myself. "Anything from the trolley, dear---" an unfamiliar voice began. "More people?!?!?! What is this, a tourist attraction?!?" I exclaimed.

"No, actually, it isn't, but if you don't want any," the trolley lady gestured to all of the cakes and candies littering the top of the cart, "of this, I can surely leave..."

I felt a blush creep up my cheeks.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

I handed the trolley lady a few knuts for my food, which Tara looked at with mild curiosity. She then took a few knuts from her pocket and handed them to the lady, ordering a dozen chocolate frogs.

Rori looked at Tara like she just proposed that they go on a killing spree.

"What?" Tara asked through a mouthful of chocolate. "I like chocolate!"

Rori shook her head and went back to reading.

I heard the now familiar sound of the compartment door sliding open. I couldn't hold back this time.

I screamed.

I turned around, smoke practically coming out of my ears, and looked at who entered.

I looked up at the face of a tall girl, ready in her robes. She was a second year Slytherin.

I gulped. What had I done now?
