I could hear hushed whispers as they echoed of the walls of the room. Miss Weasley's voice was most prominent as she talked to Harry. "Are you sure she is safe? I love her very much, as you know, but I simply cannot put my family in danger." "I know Miss Weasley, but I promise she is about as safe as I am." That was the last thing I heard before I drifted back to sleep.

I woke up feeling warm and cosy. I could feel blankets covering my exterior and something soft under my head as I lay. I began to flutter open my eyes, as I had before, and was met with Percy's as he stroked back my hair with his sweaty hands. I could feel his arms snaked around my body as he lay next to me, his breathing evening out as I begin to wake up. I noticed that the moon was out and his eyes where red with tiredness as if he hadn't slept. I could hear two people pacing about upstairs, and silent voices in the kitchen. Percy continued to stare at me before pulling me into a hug. I jumped, but hugged him back, happy to see that somebody believed I was safe to be around.

After a few moments Percy released me and sat silently looking at the floor, a bright red blush stretching across his face. This, being very unlike Percy, surprised me. He had never touched me before, let alone hugged me. I continued to watch him, intrigued by his actions and that was when it happened. Before I knew what was going on I felt Percy press his lips to mine lovingly and place both his hands on my cheeks. For a moment I kissed him back gently for a few slow, painful seconds before I heard it. "Wow Perc. So you're into evil witches are you?" George's voice spat venom at us. I pulled away from his grasp and stared at him wide eyed. I heard Percy whisper something under his breath before walking out of the house and into the cold night air.

For a minute, just a minute, I debated going after him, but that minute subsided as I looked back at the twins and a wide eyed Ginny and Hermione. I could see the hurt in Fred's eyes and it made my body feel heavy. "Well Miss Riddle, how does it feel being the daughter of an unloving, uncaring animal." Fred hissed at me. "Oh yeah Fred because I totally asked for this!" I felt my voice drip with sarcasm. "Going after Percy? What do you need his brains for you're evil plans? I'm guessing you're daddy's golden death eater!" His words stung as I looked at my two best friends. I could feel the hot tears trailing down my face and I saw both their harsh faces fall.

But, only for a second. Just a second.
