The church pew was hard beneath Tyler's butt but he had grown used to it after many years. His whispers of prayer echoed around the empty hall. He had so many questions and queries for god about himself, why was he this way?
"let it be" josh's voice jerked him back into the steam of harshly coloured sunlight shining on his face. "you're always questioning the way of god by can't you just let it be?"
"josh, you know you can't be here, and you know I can't be seen talking to you!"
Josh, with his unnatural shock of brightly coloured hair, had been excommunicated from the church a year previously, shortly after coming out as "a faggot". His parents had also been turned away for accepting his "sin" but the family still practiced the word of god. The whole experience had pushed Tyler even further into the warmth and safety of the closet. Especially since his parents barred any communication with that "hell-bound" family.
"chill man, the pastors in the back with his "god orientated" magazines, which means we got at least five minutes for you to finish your heavenly phone call and high-tail out of here"
Tyler looked up at josh's smirk and let his hand grab Tyler's off the pew, the warmth spreading up his wrist. It felt good, but dirty at the same, as if he was committing the worst sin possible in the eyes of the lord. He knew that if anyone saw them, he would be dammed and be seen as something monstrous in the eyes of the church, and his family. But he tried to push those thoughts out of his mind and just enjoy the warmth flooding through his body and the soothing feeling of josh's skin against his.
"you're my favourite faggot you know"
