Chapter 12

It's been 5 weeks since I met Emily. 5 weeks of thinking and 5 weeks of confusion. All thanks to the man inside the booth recording his new song.

Every single day of those passing weeks, I've been thinking about what Emily made me promise. I don't why, but there is something in her words that struck me.

"...I can feel that you like him too. Stop confusing yourself."

Why did I even made a promise to her?

Do I really like Harry too? Am I really that obvious showing my confusion? What is wrong with me?

"Hello? Earth to Sammy!" I heard Stacy spoke snapping her fingers in front of my face.

"Sorry, what?" I asked shaking off the thought of Emily.

"I asked you for like 3 times already. Aren't you listening?" She said flicking her tongue.

"I'm sorry, I spaced out. What were you asking me again?" I asked, this time focusing on her.

"The title of Harry's new song." She said.

"Oh. Wait..." Scanning the papers that I was holding containing Harry's new songs. "Well, its called 'Through The Dark'"

"Nice. I like it. No. I love it! The song speaks something, I just can't pin point it. Something familiar, don't you think?" She said rubbing her chin and thinking deeply.

"Why? Do you think he's plagiarizing any song?" I asked shaking my head.

Unbelievable!

"I know he won't do that. I was with him, advising him when he's writing that song." I said matter-of-factly.

"Defensive!" She said playfully and poked me on the side. "What I mean is, the song makes me think about you and him." She said smiling deviously.

"What? But why? It's a a bit of a happy song don't you think?" I asked. I furrowed my eyebrows, waiting for her answer. She groaned on my question.

"Do you have the lyrics with you?" She asked and I waved the papers in hands, smiling. "Ok. Lets take a seat." She motioned me sit on the couch in front of the booth.

I sat with her, crossing my legs together. I flipped the paper over to show her the lyrics of 'Through The Dark'.

"Here it is." I said. And she took the copy from me.

"Look at this." She pointed at some lines of the lyrics of the song.

"You tell me that you're hurt and you're in pain..."

"You said you told him about your past, am I right?" she asked. I nodded. "Does it still hurt thinking about it?"

"Of course it still hurts. It doesn't go away easily." I said.

"See? It's you. You are hurt and you're in pain." She said.

What?

"Now look at this." She pointed at another lines of the lyrics again.

"But I just wanna see you smile again

See you smile again

But don't burn out

Even if you scream and shout

It will come back to you

And I'll be here for you..."
